White linen and cobblestone – While I enjoy the white linen tablecloth steakhouses with deep dark wooded walls of the classic chain steakhouses, Little Rhein is a pleasant change in ambience with top grade steaks and a solid wine list. The cobblestone surroundings and casual attire were surprising. If it's hot and humid, opt for the air conditioning on the inside. It was a little louder than a Ruth Chris' or Morton's.

While it is ala carte', the side dishes are enough to share. The desserts were excellent. But the filet earned the restaurant's reputation as a top notch steakhouse.

Review – I was disappointed that side dishes were a separate expense and that the service was lacking.

Best Steak in SA!!! – Little Rhein Steak House is the best steak in San Antonio. I've eaten at quite a few steak houses around town, some "chain" and others locally owned, and Little Rhein offers the best overall dining experience. The best food, excellent service, and a fantastic wine list. Don't waste your time (or money) anywhere else.

The Steak You Dream About – This charming little restaurant overlooking the Riverwalk in San Antonio serves up the best steak I have ever eaten in a restaurant. The wait staff is courteous and attentive. The ambience makes for a delightful dinner.

Big Steaks Big Bucks – Food was absolutly delicious but be prepared to pay the Ruths Chris type of price. It took two tries to get my steak cooked medium but it was worth the wait. Scalloped potatoes and asparagus were wonderful and if you order the mushrooms be prepared to share with more than one person as the plate is heaping with the fungus. The desserts were interesting so I left part of my steak to have room for one. Cobbler is a weakness for me and I had had a few on this visit, but the peach and pear cobbler here was far the best of all. The view at night is the best but if you are hungry at 5 don't wait until it gets dark to enjoy this place!

Best Little Steakhouse . . . – Great atmosphere, excellent service and, most importantly, tender and flavorful steaks!
