Discriminating Taste – While having ice cream in the Riverwalk on Monday, my two daughters and I grabbed a table that happened to be next to another family enjoying their ice cream and that happened to be outside the Swig Bar. Shortly after we sat down, a guy came out of the bar and took a look around. We acknowledged each other without saying a word, and he went back in. Then he came back to the table and asked me if I was going to order something to drink or wanted a menu. I told him that I did not want to drink anything that we were just trying to finish eating the ice cream. He clarified that the tables belonged to the bar and its clients. I told him that we would leave the table shortly.

Before we left, something told me to make sure that the guy was not making me move just because he could. I asked my daughters to finish their dessert on a wooden bench that did not belong to the bar but it was not far from the bar area. It was the perfect place for me to see if the family of five was also going to be asked to move. Twenty minutes passed and the guy never came to ask them to move. He spent most of his time in the front area of the bar chatting with people. He peaked outside for a couple of seconds and saw us on the bench; we acknowledged each other again. All of the kids were behaving well. The parents at the other table were not drinking anything from the bar either; they were sharing ice cream with their kids. The only difference that I saw was that they were Caucasian, and we were not.

I was so outraged with the situation that I asked a waitress for the guy?s info. She said that he was the manager and confirmed that the table being used by the family of five belonged to the bar.

It pains me to have to write this, but I thought that treating racial minorities as ?second class? citizens was something that my daughters would have to read in history books and not have to experience it first hand.

This review is for the Stone Oak location! – If you look at my Dolce Ultra Lounge review, you'll see that Dolce was lame so we walked next door to Swig North and it was so much better!!! It's a very cool place to have martini's...really great martini's at that! They have an extensive cute menu that makes you want to try them all! The waitstaff was very attentive as the manager. Signs of a great running establishment!

One of the best bars in the area – Great service and well-made cocktails about summarize this downtown institution. The music usually good too. The mojito is really a highlight for me, and it doesn't seem to burn too much of a hole in your pocket. I usually go either here or to Drink after work - both are relatively tourist-free and good places to find locals.

Best Cocktails in Town – They serve my favorite Vodka, UV! The service is supurb and the cocktails are devine! The atmosphere is upscale and beyond trendy, it is a true cocktail lounge. If you are looking for beautiful people this is the place.

Great Employees – My brother and I were in San Antonio last week and ended up at Swigs every night at some time or another. The Employees are awesome! Fiona, Shannon, Big D and the crew made us feel right at home. They have great drinks and also offer cold Black and Tans for the beer drinker. Check out the Jazz band 87 Caprice that plays there, good stuff. Thanks Swig!

This place sucks and overcharges – The place has the worst service I have ever experienced. Plus, I was overcharged!

Good Experience @ Swig – We recently visited SWIG. We definitely are not "yuppies" or "plastic" people. We are very much the average, blue collar worker and both visits, we were in shorts. Definitely not dressed up. Although the bar was very smokey and the music very loud, we did have a good time. The bar was extremely busy yet our waitress was very attentive and treated us like anyone else there who were "dressed to the nines" so to speak. Yes, the drinks are outrageously priced, yet they were the best martinis we have ever had.

HOT HOT HOT!!!!! ok CALIENTE!!! – Anyone who has been to SWIG will tell you, anyone who is anyone is at SWIG. This place is HOT! If you can sit on the patio and have a cocktail with Hollywood's hottest and the swank of San Antonio, it seems that no wonder it is the best. You feel like are you are truly in a metropolitan city, not an over-sized town. The martinis are the best in TEXAS, possibly the USA. I give a huge thumbs-up to SWIG crew, AMAZING DIGS.

The martini, in scores of variations, is king at this full-service bar with a great view. – In Short
You won't go thirsty or cigar-less at this lounge that features an awesome array of martinis and the largest humidor on the Riverwalk. The house drink is the Swig (Absolut vodka infused with seasonal fruit, shaken over ice and served straight up). Others include the Goldfinger (Gordon's gin and Noilly Prat vermouth garnished with bocconcini and marinated olives, not stirred) and the St. Valentine (Absolut Peppar and the bar's bloody mary mix garnished with anchovy olives).
