USAA recommended Lenz and consistent with USAA's record of excellence the recommendation was a very good one. All work, including that of their subcontractors, was done well and on schedule. I would recommend Lenz to anyone.
Lenz Contracting was recommended to us by USAA after we had a pipe break in our slab. Our PM was very professional and helpful. All subs showed up on time and where very courteous and professional also. Everything was arranged before hand and they adjusted their schedule to accommodate ours. We will definately call them again for anything that might come up in the future.

They did very good work on my home after some fire damage. I was able to search for counter tops on my own and they did a great job of installing them. They made the recovery from fire damage very smooth and stress free.
Great work on our kitchen remodel. They kept my husband and I involved throughout the entire process. We had a great time looking over designs and planning out our kitchen. I would definitely recommend them!
Lenz did some contract work after we filed an insurance claim for kitchen damage when our oven went kaput. No complaints here. They did a pretty outstanding job matching our old flooring with the new stuff they were putting in. Also they were able to recover/restore some of the damage cabinets to help save some money. (We did NOT want to replace all of our cabinets in the kitchen!)
Lenz Contractors, Inc – Where do I start...first let me say RUN like your ass is on fire when someone even mentions this company. They are rude, promises the world never delivers, horrible work when and if they ever show up to your home, if they say they will be there at 9am its ok do what you need to do they will be there after 2pm if they show up. Mr Lenz the owner is a joke. Rude cocky thinks he knows it all. He never comes thru with his word. The PM for this company are young and unexperience. Don't try to call the office and complain. Someone will send you to voicemail and no one calls back. THey will quote you $100 then you get a bill for almost $300 what they quote is always higher after they complete the work and you can't do much about it due to the work being completed. Also beware once USAA approves them to do work they receive the check right then and there to do the work on your home. If you have had problems with them let USAA know ASAP. Also be aware some of USAA adjusters actually gets paid under the table form Lenz if they don't give them a bad report at the end. This is straight from the mouth of a USAA adjuster that declined Lenz's offer to take $2500 to just ignore issues on a home. Lenz is horrible they will state home will be done in 3 months by USAA depending on damages work should be completed by a certain time mine was 3months well 7 months later they are barely starting. They also use used materials from other projects, the workers play loud vulgar music, leaves your home in a mess with their personal trash. Lenz PM's are like used car salesmen. Just run I could write for hours. Just don't want anyone to go thru what I have been thru. Hopefully they won't be in business much longer. I can only hope.
The worst company ever!! – I can not believe USAA suggested we use Lenz to rebuild after a house fire. They are over-extended. (Have way too many permits out.) They fail to return emails and phone calls. They fail to produce information.
We have asked for months for information such as a timeline, budget and credits. Still has not been provided.
Rory is awful. He wants to argue with every point you make. Even the guys who work for him (the painters who have done good work, don't like working for Rory.)
There is no schedule. At times workers showed up one or two days per week! There is a lack of supervision. Too many mistakes are made due to this.
They told us of meetings last minute, so we could not attend. They lied that they could not reschedule meetings. (When I called the specific supplier about other meeting times, I was told differently.)
This has been an awful experience to work with them. It could have been much easier had they provided open communication or even been willing to help. Had they answered emails or answered questions.
Just a warning. Run so far if you hear the name Lenz.. Try Gerloft instead. I've heard good things about them.
Best Service Ever – Lenz Contractors was the best company that I have used for home repair ever! The girls in the office were always helpful and courteous; the project manager, Brad Thompson, was constantly keeping me informed of the status of my home repairs; and the owner personally thanked me for my business when I came in to endorse a check one day. I will definitely use them in the future for any minor or major repairs. Thank you, Lenz Contractors!
Not sure how they stay in business – I've been trying to deal with the owner John Lenz for several weeks, and this guy is a ghost. He doesn't return calls, his staff is rude, and I'm not sure how in this economy he is still in business.
My guess he's livin off daddys saddle bag or pardon me...but he's on some kind of "medication"
homerepair – If you don't care that it takes forever and you are always hunting them down because they haven't shown up for days they are the company for you.
They don't pay attention to detail. They finish painting but I guess coverplates arent their job. After a week of asking and looking at it I did myself. Took me over a month to get my lights back up because they wouldn't return my calls.
They did not do any cleaning I had to do it all. It didn't matter my insurance company paid them for the cleaning.
They got the paint on the walls but they also got it on the tiles, refrigerator, cabinets and anything else that seems in the way.
The floors they put in the nails are coming thought.
This was just my experience with them and it was my first experience with a contract and my expectations may have been to high.
