BEWARE!!!...I am very much a DIYer but ran across a water heater that I didn’t know much about. I contacted the manufacturer and they helped me with performing some maintenance on the water heater to see if that would correct the problem. That didn’t so I called our home warranty, “American Home” (rating:fair) and they sent out WILL FIX IT. I thought cool, a professional company. The guy walked into my garage and asked why it was unplugged, uh, hello...it isn’t working and then he asked what I did to it. I told him about the maintenance I did and he since I did that, the water heater was not covered under insurance. To make matters worse, in his report to the insurance company he said the water heater was taken apart and also it failed because of improper install. The guy never came within 10 feet of my heater! I wish I had my video camera out! Besides, how can you say it was an improper install if it’s apart and without even touching it? What an oxymoron! He did say that he had a replacement water heater that he could install for $950 bucks! How convenient! Just happen to be the exact same kind that I needed! I thought they would be a professional company. Maybe a moral company is what I would appreciate so BUYER BEWARE. Take a look on craigslist or find a reference and find a better company. It maybe a mom & pop company but that’s where most of us got our morals from and that’s what this country was built on!
Get it in writing before you authorize the work..... – While at Home Depot recently, a lady asked me if I would like a $49.00 "Spring Air Conditioning Tune UP".... Since it had been several years since my unit had been checked, I thought it a good price and a good idea. I called the number on the coupon that I was given and was greeted by someone from Will Fit It. I scheduled an appointment and the technician arrived 40 minutes late. After an inspection of the AC system. The tech began to tell me everything that was wrong with my seemingly well functioning unit. He began to list numerous items such as surge protectors and pans and fan removing and cleaning and capacitors and 1 or 2 units of freon. I advised him that I had an American Home Shield policy and he stated that it would not cover any of these things and it would cost me a lot of money if they came to repair unit when it broke down. I requested that he simply fill the unit with the freon and give me a written estimate of the other things. He proceeded to fill the unit with freon never bothering ot mention that it was going to cost me $250.oo for the freon. ($1,299.00 was his estimate for all repairs) I informed him that I felt it was an excessive amount and he should have given me a price before spending $300.00 of my hard earned money. He was less than understanding and informed me that freon was going up daily in price.
I will never do business with Will Fix It and intend on taking my complaint to every venue I can. I will be contacting Home Depot tomorrow as I know they would not want their name associated with an organization that does business in this manner. Please don't let yourself get caught in a situation like this. Ask for something in writing before you authorize any work to be done by Will Fix It or Mario at the local organization in San Antonio.
Worst Customer Service – We also have AHS - American Home Sheild and called them who chose this company for us to use. THe first thing I told them was that we were on propane and had a propane water heater that was leaking. They scheduled a 4 hour window from 9 to 12 pm. They hadn't called by 11:30 so I called to check. I was on hold for about 5 minutes then a lady came on telling me to call back at 1 if they hadn't shown up. Really? Other companies I've worked with, if they're running late, have always called and apologized and said they are running behind and will call when they are headed out. Not Will FixIt. Then, they get there around 1:30 and look at it and diagnos it needing to be replaced. The guy spent 1 hour on the phone with AHS then comes and tells my husband that they don't do propane water heaters and he'll have someone else call us. What? He didn't know that when we told him or when he came in and saw the propane water heater? Our assumption is that they weren't going to make any money off of us since we have AHS and so he lied to our faces b/c he didn't want to do the work or something. Who knows but I will never use Will FixIt again and wouldn't recommend them even to people I don't like. :p
Disappointed – AHS dispatched this company to answer a workorder I put in referencing a plumbing problem (pimps rattling). The guy came in my house, stood around for about 5 minutes and played with my dogs and then wanted to charge my wife $125 and stated that he couldn't find the problem because he couldn't hear anything. The problem is this:
1. I talked to him on the phone and explained to him what was going on the best i could. after all.. i'm not a plumber. he said he would take a look at it and did nothing
2. Wanted to charge my wife, stating that he couldn't find anything wrong because he didn't hear the pipes rattle while he was there for 5 minutes.. in my desire to figure it out, i did some research online and one thing you should do is AT LEAST check the water pressure. he didn't even do that.
3. He told AHS that he was at my house for 1.5 hours. Totally untrue. i spoke to him over the phone as soon as he got to the house and not 15 min later, i was back on the phone because my wife refused to pay. that tells me that they are over charging AHS.
4. Are these master plumbers that are coming to the home?
5. He was very comfortable acting this way so that tells me that this type of behavior is typical.
6. I will never use will fix it for anything having to do with my home and i hope that AHS has an alternate contractor or i may have to find another company to go with.
Very disappointing interaction.
Sales Before Service – "WOW!"
Had a small back up with our cleanout which leads to sewer line. Call Will "not" Fix it for their $69.00 special.
Technician JESSE-Tech#99, was more of a sales person than a plumber. Before he even looked at my plumbing, he stated that the homes in my area are very old, and probally have clay piping. So he would probally have to install a whole new line.
He did take a picture with his video cam, and my husband did see that our line could probaly be upgraded. But he told JESSE that we weren't in positon to purchase a new system at this time.
" Bang*** $3,300.00" cost to replace 28-feet of 4-inch piping." What???
JESSE-Tech#99, then said that if we wanted to have my line clean, my husband would have to sign a waiver. We signed the wavier, only to have JESSE-Tech#99, try to run a game on my husband, like his line was getting stuck. I've have my line rotored many times before because we have roots in our yard. And yes it takes a little effort from the plumber to clear the line. Not just stick the thing in the hole and all is clear.
"Will Fix It" are just a bunch of salesman.
My Husband is a gulf war vet, and he told JESSE-Tech#99, that we are on a fixed income, but they still didn't try to help.
Where is the love for our Military Veterans? We were not asking for anything free, or discounted. Just wanted our sewer line rotor, and maybe a little customer service before the sales pitch.
Still proud to be an American!!!! And happy to have served our country...
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER – I will never recommend ARS Will Fit It in San Antonio. They will take advantage of you if they think you are not knowledgeable about AC/heat. It took me 5 months to get the correct size unit for my house & another 3 months to get a refund for the price difference. I had to contact the CEO of ARS in Tennessee because the San Antonio office would not return my calls nor let me talk to the manager. The only reason I knew I had the wrong size was GVEC would not approve my energy rebate.
All they had to do was correct their error, refund the price difference and apologize and the entire issue would have been avoided.
Phenomenal Customer Service – A misunderstanding during my first call to Will Fix It resulted in the best customer service I have experienced in years. The General Manager personally answered my questions and then send a team to my house to take care of everything - even had a quality control supervisor stop by to verify. This company stands by their work! Everything works great now and I believe they will stand by there work. I am a fan and will use them again, if necessary.
THEY DID NOT FIX IT – I agree with Ralph-I believe it is just too obvious when there is a rebuttal on the poor services your wife received. The purpose of reviews should be what that person experienced not bashing others true opinions. I was very dissatisfied with their services and their report to my home warranty company-they did not take any time to report what they found as they made the determination that the leak I called about was not covered and left after that-they said it would cost $285 without looking for the problem.
THEY FIXED IT – I don't know why the people below have said not to use these guys but i do know that they are wrong. I had them come out to fix a few plumbing issues i had with the new home I bought. They came very quick and were very kind. I think this a company that really looks at it from a customers view. Yes there prices were higher then some of the other companies I called but they had all the stuff they needed with them so the prices they provided me for the services was the same at the start as it was at the finish no surpises. Now they did have to come back one time to fix a promblem twice, but with no charge it was covered. So if you want a company to provide you a price over the phone and looking for the cheapest price this is not the company for you but if you want a professional company that does it right then call them. But i would think about calling the other company because they will end up costing more in the long run from having to come back to fix it over and over and over agian and think about it if the company is willing to give you a price with out seeing the problem isnt that a little shady to you. I respect the fact that they want to see the issue so they can give you straight prices and answers. Atleast Will fix it gives you a guantee and stands by it.
LOVED IT – WATER WATER WATER UGGGG THATS ALL I HAD ALL OVER MY BATHROOM FLOOR AT 11:00 LAST NIGHT. I CALLED SEVERAL COMPANIES NO ANSWER. THEN I CALLED WILL FIX IT THEY ANSWERED RIGHT AWAY CAME AND FIXED MY LEAK AND DIDNT CHARGE ME CRAZY PRICES BECAUSE OF THE HOUR. THEN THIS MORNING THEY CALLED TO MAKE SURE I STILL IN GOOD SHAPE. EVEN SET UP FOR A COMPANY TO COME OUT AND CLEAN UP MY WATER MESS! I HAVED HAD PLUMBERS HERE BEFORE BUT THE SERVICE I GOT FROM THEM EVEN AT NIGHT WAS AWESOME. OH DID I TELL YOU THEY WERE THERE IN LESS THEN AN HOUR. IF YOU WANT EXCELLENT SERVICE THIS IS THE COMPANY
