Bolo’s has been mine and my fiancé’s first pick for several occasions; birthdays, anniversaries, celebrations, etc… and the service is always sensational. The hosts and servers are welcoming and friendly. Even the manager comes by the table frequently to ask how we are doing. The atmosphere is warm yet elegant. The southwestern theme features a huge topiary stallion (playfully nick-named “Sea biscuit”), nostalgic western photographs, tumbleweeds, and pleasant music. Bolo’s also offers free WiFi, which is incredibly useful for busy individuals who would also like to enjoy an excellent dining experience. Now, let me tell you about the food. It is sincerely the best I’ve had in San Antonio. To start, the caesar salad is perfect. The combination of dressing, fresh romaine lettuce, crunchy croutons, and housemade edible parmesan basket is spot on. I wish I could eat it every day. The Pacific White Sea Bass with white bean ragout, sautéed asparagus, and chimichurri is amazing. It is perfectly seasoned and cooked. The flavors all go so well together and melt in your mouth. The Roasted Market Vegetable Fajitas feature peppers, onions, and the best Portobello mushrooms I have ever eaten. Everything is seasoned to perfection, and the rice and beans that are served alongside the fajitas are a perfect compliment. Fresh tortillas are the icing on the cake.

Tumbleweeds, a giant artificial topiary stallion and sepia cowboy photos inspire a South Texas ambience. Bolo's menu offers varied starters from salads to seafood. Grilled portabello mushrooms splashed with balsamic vinegar are piquantly contrasted on a bed of cannellini bean puree. Entrees range from pasta to specials showcasing seafood, fowl, beef and game. Other tempting choices include duck with currant demi-glace and bourbon laced venison.
