I'm sure they have some good stylists... – ...but the one I had yesterday made me want to commit homicide. I had my hair cut by one of the so-called managers. I won't give out her full name, but do yourself a favor and AVOID the initials N.G. It was truly the worst $47 I ever spent.

Before we got started, I told her exactly what I wanted: A trim off the ends, including the side-swept bangs I already had. Simple enough...I thought.

The shampoo was where a long, awkward, mostly one-sided conversation began. Instead of talking and washing my hair at the same time, she simply stopped what she was doing to run her trap for a good 2-3 minutes at a time about the economy and the beautiful bride she styled that morning and all the boring details of this stranger's wedding. This was highly annoying, especially in the uncomfortable position of balancing my head in a sink. I tried to remain quiet so as not to carry on the conversation, but this woman basically kept stopping and talking to herself, her hands dripping over my face as she waved them around to emphasize her speech.

We finally got back to her station, where she continued to ramble. She stopped cutting my hair during her talking stretches as well. I really dislike conversation during beauty services, but I'm also paranoid about being rude, so while trying to act busy with my cellphone I would utter the occasional short sentence or agreement just to be nice. Sadly, this only fueled her diatribe, and during my 30 minute haircut I learned more than anyone needs to know about this woman's real estate history and past marital problems. Then she asked if I had any kids. I finally gave a blunt, can't-take-this-anymore response: "I really don't care for children. I'm already happily sterilized." (And I was being honest; I HAD to cut her off because it's one of the few topics that make me want to puke.)

Missing the 'shut up' cue, she recounted her miscarriage woes, infertility and subsequent failure to adopt a child by the time the courts deemed her to be too old.

I stopped listening and responding. I'd had enough. Instead I glanced helplessly at a couple of other stylists who watched my awkward haircut like a sporting event. They smirked when I looked highly unimpressed with the bangs she gave me. She felt the need to recreate my bangs entirely, so she cut way too much of my hair into "bang length" and the horrible bangs she gave me now covered my eyes. She essentially gave me the trashy emo kid look. I'm a 24 year old woman in the military. Give me a f*cking break.

I was afraid of what they would look like if I asked her to "fix" them, so I left the place thinking I could just restyle it better when I got home. Wrong. I can't even curl them into something decent, and if I part them not so far to the side, they look ridiculous. I'm calling someone else to fix it and I'm never leaving a salon with my hair looking this bad again.

Worst Hair Salon Expierence – Hands down the worst hair salon I have ever been to! Granted I just moved to Texas, but I decided to bargain with a commercial salon. This was my first time in Regis at Ingram and my last! As soon as you walk in, its loud and complete chaos! There was maybe 6 stylists/ receptionists by the front desk. One was occupied with the phones while the others were talking to eachother, on cell phones, and applying lip gloss. It was about 5 min later that they noticed I was standing there. I told them who i was and who i was supposed to meet with. They pointed towards the back of the salon, and told me to go grab a smock. Hmm, with me being new i wouldn't know where to go or what to do would I?! So after being stared at but not told where to go, i assumed it was in the bathrooms in the back. Luckily I was right. I then walked out back to the salon area and stood there waiting for someone to tell me where i could find the woman who is supposed to be cutting my hair. After bout 3 min of stylists walking past me like i was in there way, a guy stylist asked who i had the appt with..then to find out she was slammed and I was stuck with whoever was available, and not who I initially talked with on the phone. The stylist did not listen to me, she said what i wanted was not possible to do. But i suppose that's what i get from a commercial salon. She asked 3 questions for the entire 2hr55min I was there, then slapped a chemical based rag in my hand and said to clean the dye off my face...yea i think she got more there than my hair! To top it off, i didn't leave with the cut or color i wanted. It wasn't ugly, i can give her that much credit, but for $175.00...I should have went to a REAL hair salon. At least there i could walk out with confidence but because I am always a good tipper, I STILL left a $20.00 tip. I have never felt so awkward, or so ignored, and I paid for it! Please if you enjoy the salon experience and feeling beautiful, TAKE YOUR MONEY WHERE IT COUNTS!!!
