this place is a hellhole.the only place worth spending money is THE IMPROV and on wed nights or the weekend.
Me and my friend came here to see Chris D'elia, Pauly Shore, and Bobby Lee. Great lineup! Some of the comics were eh, but the good ones made up for the lackluster ones! We found parking at the hotel right next door for ten bucks which is great considering other area lots want 15. We were told we had to pay extra to sit in the booths, I am not sure if we got swindled or if that was the case, but it was much more comfortable then all the chairs they crammed in that place. Sitting for 3 hours in those seats would have been hell. The drinks were expensive and watered down. I didnt taste much alcohol in mine. The food....sucks. But what do you expect from the comedy store I guess. All in all, it was good! I woudnt come here just to come here, but if a comedian i fancied was there that nice I would...( and bring a flask to add more alcohol to my drink ha!)
David Taylor – Well, my wife took her sister to see this show for her birthday. The comics called them hookers, fat cows, and suggested that they die etc. etc. "Who would ever f--- these sl---ts" etc. Many comics crossed the lines of humor and basic human decency.
To top it all off, the waitress was in on the cruelty.
There should be laws against this kind of verbal abuse. If I find that there are I will be pursuing them.
Louie Anderson and Friends! – This is by far one of the best comedy clubs available. Parking in the area is a night mare, but not for this club. They have next door parking, which is very inexpensive considering the are, and the staff is very friendly. I took a friend with me to enjoy Louie Anderson and Friends - he is so funny and some of his friends are some of my favorite funny actors. OH - big deal and I wish someone had told me ahead of time - eat before you go to this club, because they do not serve food. My friend and I made the big mistake of not having dinner before the 9pm show and we had to starve, plus drink, and eat the only thing available (popcorn) - not very comfortable to the stomach.
Tony Clifton and Doobie McDonald – My associates have speculated this for a long time. Beware Mr. Clifton. We have reason to believe Mr. McDonald will be at your May 16th show.
My Youtube channel will display all the details.
Best Comedy Club on the Planet – Headlining comics back to back every 15 minutes
with a large main stage that has shows almost every night of the week.
Great Place To Perform by Laurie Fondiler, Comedian – I performed there years ago. It's Hollywood, It's the Original Comedy Store!! It's exciting no matter what anyone says and they will say it - It's been around forever and named comedians drop by and hang out - get stage time. If you go there - you'll eventually see everyone!! And, you'll learn alot about being a comedian. If you want to see the nice, the caring and the bitter - they are all there!
Is it expensive? It's a Comedy Club - if you want cheap get a drink at the dollar store!
Almost worth the cost – I love this place. But is it really worth having to buy the 2 drink minimum? yes i know its pretty much the same anywhere you but even for the not too famous peeps that have a show there the tickets are about $15. Then you know once you've had two you might as well have two more and I love them fancy mixed drinks. Thats a good $100 night right there. But the atmosphere is great and the shows are almost always pee in your pants funny.
Legendary – Depending on the night, you can catch stand-up from some of THE best comedians in the world. However, if you miss Steve Martin, don't worry. You can come any day of the week and see the up and comers ready to make your face hurt. Yes, it's usually a two drink minimum (as are most places), but follow The Comedy Store on Twitter and become a fan of theirs on Facebook, where they're constantly providing discounted and even free tickets.
The joke is on us – I went once and they just let us in for free. But we saw this late-late night variety show that ended up being the most depressing act I've ever seen live.
Was going to go back this weekend to see a friend do stand up, but probably not anymore. Tickets are 15 dollars (for someone famous maybe, but a friend?) And with a two drink minimum and mixed drinks running around 10 dollars, that puts the price at 35 bucks. Add my date in and its 70 dollars.
