caring and compassionalte – I have been using CTAH for over 20 years. They have seen me through the death of 2 dogs with compassion and understanding, helping the surviving dog deal with the adjustment. We now have 2 other dogs and continue to go see them even after moving to the Round Rock area. They truly care about their patience and do their best to make them as comfortable as possible.
Terrible Customer Service – Although I found Dr. Coleman to be very compassionate and informative about my 12 yr old dog's diagnosis, I was very dissatisfied with the clinic manager's attitude and the way she handled payment. It was taking an usually long time to drain fluid from my dog's abdomen and after I had paid the invoice, Michelle stated "We didn't charge you enough. It's taking too long and too many staff members to get this done so we'll have to charge more next time.". My dog is in the end stages of liver failure. The last thing a grieving pet owner needs from the staff at a clinic is a crappy attitude and someone making them feel bad because it taking longer than normal to perform a procedure. It was past closing time on a Saturday and I felt as if she was being nasty to me because she couldnt close for the day. We have been patrons of CTAH for years and after our sweet lab passes away, we'll be looking for a new clinic. It's not always about the bottom dollar CTAH... It's about making your clients feel at ease and well taken care of, especially in times of grief.
Dr Modok saved my cat...staff is great – My cat was skin and bones after his best friend, another cat had died. Dr. Modok understood cat behavior, gave an internal injection of fluids under the skin and sent us home...all for a reasonable cost. I doubted the treatment, but followed his instructions for at home care. Day by day my cat's health improved. The staff there was very knowledgeable about animals and compassionate. From front desk staff to the techs...they knew their stuff. I hope they keep up the good work. They have cared for our pets since 2002.
Always There for You! – We've been using CTAH since moving to P'ville 15 years ago. They have been attentive to all our pet's needs and very professional. The records they keep help us to remember what is needed. I have recommended to numerous friends and recommend to all that are reading this review.
Excellent Veterinarian Care & Groomer! – My pets & I LOVE the staff at CTAH! My dogs are always happy to go. Janice, their groomer is awesome! My dogs always come back clean and happy. And they stay smelling clean for a long time! Been going there for 4 years now. They treat me and my dogs like family. Love, love, love them!
Love it!! – I have 7 doggies and love the attention of the staff of the hospital. Everyone is always friendly and we are treated like family here. They GIVE back to the community by sponsoring many activities helping senior pets and rescues. I have been a client for over 3 years and would not take my babies anywhere else.
Good staff poor groomer – I have taken my dog to CTAH for 6 years. She gets excellent care, I have never been unhappy. I like that they have weekend hours since I work. I also board my pet when I travel and they call me if there is ever any problems. The reception staff has been there long term, is very knowledgeable
the prices are a bit on the high side in comparison to some of the other vets in Austin, but not as high as others. For major surgery it might be best to shop around
I only had my dog groomed there one time and it was one time too many. my poor dog came back covered in nicks and cuts, . This is a sign of dull blades and a careless groomer. I will never take my pet back for grooming. no animal should be tortured by that groomer!
Extremely Poor Service Quality – If you read nothing else about this review, take from this that you should NEVER take your cat to be groomed at Central Texas Animal Hospital.
I should start off by saying that I have been getting my cat groomed, with a lion cut, two times a summer for the past four years. Having moved to Texas this year, I needed to find a new groomer. I used citysearch and decided on Central Texas Animal Hospital based on all of the outstanding reviews. I have never received such poor quality of service for my cat.
First off, he was terrified when I got him home (he has NEVER been like that after grooming). Secondly, his hair looked horrid. Truly horrible. The groomer, Janice, had cut-crookedly- all the way up to his head, leaving no fur for the mane (he now looks like a bobble head). His legs were all cut crooked with chunks of fur missing. There were also 15-20 nicks, where Janice had hit his skin with the shaver, along his back. His back legs were shaved down to the sensitive bones of his feet and he has had a hard time laying down even a day later. There were also chunks of fur all along his body that had been missed in the cut.
I called and spoke to Janice the following day, and related all of this information to her. Her response was that she knew she had given him a bad cut, but it was also my cat's fault for getting upset. To quote her, "you want a refund even though its not all my fault,? 'cause your cat is partly to blame." Really? Now I don't know how old Janice is, but I assume she is a grown woman. An adult should not, in my opinion, blame her inability to do her job on a cat. I also called my cat's previous groomers who said that they would be willing to send a letter to the Central Texas Animal Hospital with my cat's perfect record of behavior on the multiple occasions that he was groomed at their facility. Janice only offered a 20 dollar refund of the 50 dollars I paid. So dissapointing. Meanwhile my cat looks like he cut his own hair and/or is diseased. NEVER take your cat here if you value your cash or the dignity and safety of your animal.
My Second Home – Everyone at CTAH is great! They're all caring and compassionate and really care about animals. I'm there often since I have 10 animals. I've been to all of the doctors, and they're all excellent. One unsung hero at CTAH is Janice, their groomer. She's worked there a long time and is very good at her job. My dog was groomed last week, and it made me stop to think that she needs a thank you. Her job can't be easy, dealing with dirty, stinky, matted (and some that absolutely don't want to be there) dogs and cats. Yet she does her job professionally and better than other groomers I've been to. I've taken a couple of my cats, long-haired and matted, for her to groom for the summer, sure they'd have to be sedated for her to shave. But no, she's done them without sedation and says she'd do them again, which I guess means they didn't go ballistic. And my little dog smelled so good and looked so beautiful when I picked him up last week. Thanks, Janice. Thanks to everyone at CTAH. You guys are like my second family.
