tanco is the best – the girls that work at tanco are absolutley amazing i have been taning there for over ten years and never had a problem i even have a life time, and they offered it to me once and i said i would think about it and they never talk to me about it again i went up to them and ask about it, they are not high pressure sales girls and if you think that then so be it, but its a job just like anyone else has, you know what your getting yourself into and dont get mad at the girls at the salons for doing there job they work very hard and are some of the sweetest and cutest girls i have meet. When they ask you about lotions and memberships be polite if you dont want it say not thanks i am good for now but thank you very much, and with lotions they are just trying to get you the best tan, the girls actually do care about thier customers, one of them has even baby sat my child on a weekend, they listen to your life stories and you listen to thiers and if you get to know them you will understand where they are coming from, TANCO is a great place to go relax and have a fun time talk to someone if you need to talk or just take a 20 minute nap, i go to the salon of dezevala thye recently got new girls and i love them to death they are so adorable and sweet they talk to me like they have known me forever and that goes for any salon ... i ahve been to ohters salons like darqu tan and tanfastic and those girls that work there are all stuck up and dont care what you do or about you so for all you other people you are very wrong and dont get made at others for your decisions you know what you can afford and what you cant so deal wiht it!! I LOVE TANCO!!!
This place is wonderful! – I have been a member of Tanco for almost 5 years now. I have never had a bad experience in all of my time there. Yes, the staff has stopped me on MORE than one occasion to tell me of "specials" they are having and the times that I have told them that I was not interested; it has been left at that. It?s not that hard to say NO THANK YOU, and that?s what I have done and have never had a problem. I don?t understand the negative remarks about a company that tells you about special promotions to save you money on your tanning membership? If you are the one that has a problem saying NO, that is not the company?s fault? All in all, Tanco is a great place. They have many locations, friendly and helpful staff at all of the locations I have visited, and the prices that I have paid for the memberships I have purchased have by far been cheaper than the "monthly" payment that other places charge! AND I even had a problem one month with making a payment, and called the corporate office, and the girl I spoke with was so helpful, she moved my payment to the end of my payments for me! I didn?t even have to pay a payment for that month! Try to get any other place to do that for you! I highly recommend Tanco, and anyone who doesn?t like the "long term contract" can just say NO, but doesn?t have to bad mouth a company that is just trying to provide a service.
I LOVE TANO – Sales is the name of the game. It?s their job to sell memberships to you, so I think all of this complaining about ?being pressured to buy something? is a little intense. It?s your money and you choose what to do with it so just simply say no thank and walk out the door. The girls at Medical are ALWAYS very polite when I?ve declined to extend. They ALWAYS tell me they?ll just stick a memo in my acct so no one bothers me. Always so professional for their young age.
Plus, I think the prices are VERY reasonable too. Extremely affordable. I?m paying $50 a month for a FOUR YEAR CONTRACT! I get all of the beds. All of their locations. Half off the big beds. I even got a free lotion. And I only made 10 payments! I have over 3 years left on my contract and I?m done paying next month! I think that?s a lot better than paying every month for just level one beds.
I did have a problem with a withdraw from my bank but the girls (again at Medical) were VERY helpful; giving me a corporate number and everything was taken care of the next day. Any problem I have ever had, was taken care of immediately.
They can help me with all of the lotions, how long to go in the beds ? everything. These girls are on point!
I?ve been to all of the locations and can honestly say, these girls are professional and polite. Fun to chat with too! I think I?ll stick with the Medical Center location though, they seem to be the best!
All in all, I think Tanco is good for the money.
WORST TANNING CENTER EVER – These people would not stop throwing their sales pitches at me. literally EVERY time I would go into this wretched place they would try to sell me a year again. So I ended up buying an effing year there for 240 dollars. There is no escaping the contract. So now I'm in a bind and I payed nearly 300 dollars so I can get a glowing case of skin cancer. I hate these people.
BEST TAN IN TOWN – What can you say, great tan for the lowest price. Chip the manager is great.They make you feel @ home.25 beds makes them twice the size of all the rest in town.I just want people to know how nice the staff was to me. VERY CLEAN,GREAT LAMPS.....Hope ya'll love them as much as i do........:)
Avoid! – Even though I went to a different location I am determined to get the word out. This business is Horrible! They have high pressure sales and Extremely Long Tanning Contracts! There are No Cheap Deals! It?s all about closing you on the One to Two Years Contracts!! Don?t get fooled it?s a membership and they do not care if you come or not! You still pay your monthly fee no matter what, Even if you get sick they do not care! And once you sign they will not let you change your mind! They just ignore you if you want a different package. They are only interested in how to add more charges on to your Mandatory Automatic Payments.
Don?t sign anything with them!!! It?s not worth it and you will regret it! I have had much better tanning at other establishments!!! I wish I had read these reviews before I went there! I have wasted so much money on them when I could have just gotten a better package some where else. I feel very sad for the business owners! Why don?t they just listen to what their customers are saying? It?s because they collect their money and don?t care! Making people angry will lead to trouble and lawsuits!
Go to other local tanning first!! Avoid them! TELL ANYONE YOU KNOW THAT TANS TO AVOID THEM!!
TANCO HIGH PRESSURE TANNING SALON-BEWARE – I recently was pressured into extending my contract with Tanco and signed a contract agreeing for the payments to be withdrawn during a set upon time frame. Be careful and watch your bank statements! They electronically removed the first payment 5 months before the agreed upon date and trying to get assistance from anyone from their store locations was impossible as they were rude and uninformed. Understand, if you do not catch the problem within a 90 day period, Tanco can keep the money free and clear!! Attempts to contact anyone within their Corporate offices were fruitless as numerous messages went unreturned. Even a complaint filed was ignored. My bank finally recovered the money after filing a dispute and I closed my account to prevent further unauthorized withdrawals. My request to cancel the extension since I no longer trusted the company was countered with " we cannot cancel your contract but we will give you free tanning lotion". "What we did was a mistake, nothing more. The money never left your account", even though they called me and said they had a check waiting for me at the store location!! According to the Attorney General's office, however, this constituted electronic fraud and the contract was breached the moment the withdrawal occurred. A less than professional looking representative finally met with me and still states that they did nothing wrong but now seems a bit worried especially after showing him my bank statement showing where the money had been electronically withdrawn by Tanco. Please watch your statements carefully and be persistent. The unprofessional and evasive manner in which the entire "corporation", who by the way is co-owned by Steve and Eddie McGill, along with their high pressure tactics are red flags to all. DO NOT PAY FOR SUNSHINE IN SOUTH TEXAS!! IT IS FREE AND THIS COMPANY COULD BE VERY COSTLY IF YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DO BATTLE. YOU CAN GET A GREAT TAN JUST USE SPF 30.
Mediocre tanning salon – The pressure to buy a long term contract is a real turn-off. You will not be left in peace until you sit with an employee and here what a good deal you get with a 3 year membership. There are too many other good salons in town to get hooked up with this one.
Tanco is HORRIBLE – I have been a customer there for over 3 years. I'm always nice and tolerate their uncreative sales pitches used on EVERYONE, I ever clean my bed after I tan.
However, Ive discovered how Tanco really operates. I leaned over to view the computer screen to see when my membership expires, and I was floored at what I saw. On the computer screen next to my name it said "ABSOLUTELY RUDE!!!!!!!! I am astonished at the lack of unprofessional behavior. I think it is rude and totally uncalled for that someone would have put that in their computer about me. If they put comments about me like that, what do they write about their other customers?
If they will do this to me, they will do it to you. I think it is pertinent that I pass this information along.
