Stuffed. Avacado. – Get the stuffed avacado. Seriously, it's delish. I went for lunch with my coworkers and didnt talk the whole time because I was stuffing my face. :) Also, their brunch on Sunday is fabulous too!

Execellent Lunch Spot! – Checked out the Iron Cactus this afternoon for lunch and I was really impressed. The restaurant was spotless and clean and our food and service was great! Being located in the heart of Downtown Austin, it's really difficult to park and walk right in, but if you work in the area, I would recommend the trek to IC. Oh, and the Baja Fish Tacos were excellent!

Creepy Waiter – Have been here before and I really like it, which is why I thought it would be a great place to take a girl I had been on several dates with before going out. Our server,"Foster"(?) lingered around our table, even squatting down to make himself more comfortable. He addressed me as "man, buddy, chief" everything but sir. Not only this, he was covered in sweat and did not smell nice.We told him we were fine and hoped he would leave and let us enjoy our meal, but I don't think he got the hint. We asked to speak to a manager, but he told us "he pretty much was a manager." At this point we just had to laugh and walk away. We would go back, but would request to not be in this little creepy guys section.

Citysearch Editorial Review – This spot has established itself as one of downtown's major upscale, yet moderately priced, restaurants. The interior is ironworks industrial, with minimal decor and large windows that encourage people-watching. There's always the rooftop deck, with a mister in the summer and heaters in the winter. As with most Sixth Street restaurants, a lunchtime crowd of businesspeople filling up on chicken flauta with Spanish rice. At night, students come for more than 80 tequila options.

Great Guacamole and Margaritas – If you are looking for a great tex-mex option in downtown, the Iron Cactus will not disappoint. The gaucamole is delicous and they have more brands of tequila than you can decipher.

The roof-top is a great place to hang-out and is really the best place to eat on east 6th street in my opinion.

Good selection of salads too!

Tequila – I love tequilla and read that the Iron Cactus has one of the largest tequilla selections. I think around 70 different kinds. While walking around 6th street we stopped in to try some. The bartender knew his tequillas and was able to point us in the right direction for one of the best margaritas I have had. We followed this by splitting a tequila flight. Good times.

Great Karaoke Night! – We were seated right away last Wednesday for their new karaoke night. The service was great. They brought our margaritas and queso right away. The queso was really good. This place knows how to make a good margarita. The stage was never empty . I must say there was some pretty good talent for the most part. I even got up once to sing a song. My girlfriend and I had a great date night and we both recommend the Iron Cactus up North to friends.

The Best Food! – Me and my boyfriend went here for dinner and absolutely loved the food! I had the Enchiladas with the Salsa Colorado and he had a Pork tenderloin dish...we both talked about how good that food was the rest of the trip! LOL...Service was great and since we were out-of-towners, they gave us great advice about what bars/clubs to go to on 6th Street. Next time we go back to Austin, we will definitely eat there again.

New Years Eve – I left my car at home intentionally.

Iron Cactus advertised that they would be open "well after midnight" (or something like that). Suddenly they turned up the lights in preparation for a 02:00 close. I started calling Yellow Cab repeatedly, but couldn't get through. Despite having tipped them well, the Iron Cactus employees acted as if transportation was my problem. I told them I would stay inside the building (regardless of what they wanted) until my transportation was arranged or until the police showed up (having faith that the police would simply give me a ride home). My attitude was that Iron Cactus had some responsibility for my well-being. Finally, a busboy gave us a ride home. Next year, I will choose the venue.
