Worst service and over charged.. I've been going to Jaime's for more than 20 years. Honestly think they have the best Tex-Mex in town, but the service we received Friday, 1/2/09 was by far the worst I've ever had. Orfalinda doesn't ever smile, always seems like you're bothering her or something and this day was no different. She truthfully was overwhelmed with a party of 40 and 5 other small tables to tend to. We arrived at 8pm received our meals about 9:10pm, were out of there by 9:30. By then, we just wanted to get out of there. We gave her a cash tip of $10 because truthfully, I didn't feel she deserved even that. I didn't notice we were charged for an extra meal & drink until i got home. When I checked my bank statement on Monday, Jaime's had debited my acct $91.66. They took an additonal 18% gratuity for a party of 5 on top of the $10 we had already given her. We didn't even have drinks other than tea and two sodas. After reviewing my receipt Sunday I called immediately and spoke to Orfalinda, she apologized and asked for me to call Monday and speak to Joseph. They didn't answer the phone Monday. I called Tues at lunch time, was asked to call back after 4pm. Called back only to find their recorder on. Left a message and Joseph called me back Wed morn. saying he had credited my acct $13. HeLLO! He needed to credit me way more than that, but all of a sudden after repeating myself and going no where he says "I have another call, Can I call you back?". NO Thank you, for what? To argue with me and still NOT make things right. Sorry, but I'll never again set foot in that establishment and hope you think twice before doing so. Run across the street to Stubbs, been there too and both service and food were excellent!

The same location and traditional Tex-Mex menu for more than 70 years.. In Short
Once inside this popular eatery, you'll find several cozy dining rooms with low ceilings, dark woodwork, stone walls, photos of patrons and pictures of bullfighters. This place has been in the same spot and used the same menu since the 1930s. The dinner plates have the usual sides and a few varying main elements. La Tejana, for instance, has chicken mole, while the cena especial has cheese enchiladas.

Holy Grail of Tex-Mex. Wow, I think kweennica must be from Boston to have the huevos to slander an eatery of this grade. Jaime's is simply some of the best Tex-Mex you can get in Austin. You also don't have to put up with the yankee crowd that has ruined Chuy's. Great place, great food, AAA+++!

Soggy Food. Their tacos and nachos were extremly soggy. You can tell they had the plates made before hand. I would not recommend this place to anyone I liked. Their service was so-so as well. Sometimes kind of rude when asked to refill your drink since they sure never notice you were out.
