Neighborhood bistro serving mediterranean-inspired, locally-sourced food since 1999.

About Cipollina

  • Locally Sourced
  • Seasonal Produce
  • Wood Fire Pizza

Over the past 13 years, Cipollina has gone through many incarnations, from an Italian-style deli, to a counter service bistro, to its latest version--a comfortable, neighborhood, full-service casual dining restaurant. It is our goal to provide you with friendly service and a locally sourced menu composed of the freshest ingredients--from our eggs and chickens produced by VItal Farms to the seasonal produce brought to us by Farm to Table, as well as free trade, locally roasted coffee by Third Coast Coffee. With the guidance of our wine consultant, Greg Randle, we have expanded our wine list to include even more unique selections.

Casual Italian dining and great pizzas! Try the oyster mushroom pizza - totally unique veggie pizza that includes pesto and basalmic vinegar (no real oysters). The the caprese salad and the mussels + fries are also worth getting! Service has improved considerably (no longer self serve) and the staff is very friendly.

If you and your Valentine's Day date are on a bit of a budget, Cipollina is a good option for you. None of the (outstanding) pizzas here top $15, perhaps because they do such magical things with vegetables: The kale/kalamata tapenade/lemon ricotta/con?t garlic, for example, which is rich, simple, and abundant.

Clarksville Residence Only Please – There is a real void in this resturant. Go in, check it out. The impression our group got was that it was missing some warm, inviting feel. For the neighbor/customers it may be fine. But not worth the trip.

Maybe not on Sunday... – After hearing good things about Cippolina, I took the family there for Sunday brunch. When we walked in, I was struck by the messiness first. Dirty tables, chairs randomly strewn about...the deli case was totally disorganized and the offerings were not attractively displayed. Although there were several employees behind the counter no one greeted us nor told us how to be seated, where to order, etc. I ordered a bottle of proseco, thinking $16.00 to be a very reasonable price. (the glass is $9.50, which is ridiculous for most proseco) When the bottle was brought forth, I saw that it was a half-bottle. This was not alluded to on the wine list. Enoteca sells their proseco for $20, and it is a full bottle, and drier than the one offered at Cippolina. The person behind the counter told me, "We have some champagne glasses around here somewhere. Do you want me to look for them?" She never did look for them, and forgot about me as soon as I went to my table. I ended up going behind the counter myself and grabbing two white wine glasses. She thanked me for "not being picky". We ordered a pizza (large) that was shrunken inside the pan, not reaching the edges of the pan. The dough was to blame, I think. The crust, although pleasingly thin, was too dry. The outer edges were full of large air holes and overall the pie had a cracker-like texture. It was $15.00 and we did not feel we were getting value for our dollar. Next time, we will go to Enoteca where everyone is friendly, the place is always clean, and we leave full and happy.

Wonderful Food and Service! – Far and away my favorite place to eat in town. Not for those who want portions of food that make you feel full and disgusting. At Cippolina you get the perfect amount for a great price. The service and atmosphere are top notch as well. Chef Parker White is amazing!

Dine in or get it to go at this bright little Italian cafe serving specialty pizzas and classic Italian fare. – In Short - Cipollina is a charming, Mediterranean inspired eatery that caters the neighborhood appropriately. The cafe tables and chairs and the bright interior create an inviting space for dining in. Cipollina's is well-known in its Clarksville neighborhood, with a reputation spreading quickly. Its menu changes seasonally and often uses locally sourced produce, and insists on buying from local organic farmers and ranchers. The wood-fired pizzas feature a prosciutto white truffle oil, gruyere, oregano. Wild boar cutlet cannellini beans, rapini, mustard vinaigrette is another local favorite.

Fresh and delicious – Nearly everything is made in-house from the pizza dough to the ketchup. The bread is always fresh and the food delicious. They even butcher their own meat! One of my favorite meals is the 1/2 proscuitto sandwich, 1/2 a ceasar salad, and some fries with pesto aioli and the homemade ketchup. The pistascio cookies are always a favorite. The wine comes in bottles, by the glass, or in a carafe.

Always check for daily specials as you never know what chef Parker White will have come up with. No matter what, it's always good.

Bad Bad Bad – We got on their website and attempted to phone in a TOGO order. The website was so out of date that everything we tried to order wasn't on their menu anymore. We walked down and ordered food to go which took about 30 minutes when they weren't all that busy. It cost $30 for a glass of wine, a large prosciutto pizza, and two bread puddings. The pizza was extremely small, two of us weren't full when we finished it and the crust was thin and burned. The bread pudding was the most ridiculous thing ever, it was about two tablespoons worth of toasted bread that seemed like it was quickly dipped in cream and then covered with caramel that tasted like it was from a Hershey's squeeze bottle. I will never go to this restaurant again unless I simply want to have a glass of wine and sit outside.

Patron – I live in the neighborhood and often eat diner here. The food is always a little disappointing considering its the same group that owns Jeffrey's. I love the atmosphere so i keep trying different things. The menu is a little overpriced. A 4 to 6 oz piece of re-heated salmon w/ out sides is $8.95. I decided to try breakfast and had a Bacon, egg, and chz biscuit that was absolutely terrible. The eggs were at least a day old. I feel like I gave it a fair shot but after this last experience, I am done w/ Cipollina!
