Awesome Prices!!! – Hello! Ive come to this store for many many years.......my family and I love it! ive recommended this store to all my friends.....some cant find the styles they like...but mostly everyone can find SOMETHING they will like here. as for the reviews ive been reading: where do you people come from??? the ladies in this store are friendly and the prices you cant beat!! try shopping at the mall and see if these are BAD prices!!! to the ladies that work at this store and the owner: all the best to you and I LOVE THIS STORE!!!!!!!! see ya soon!!!!--------Crys
rude staff – I am so glad to read that other people have experienced the same level of rudeness and disrespect by the staff of this store - I thought it was something I was doing! I have never consigned with them but my mom has and has lots of complaints about them. I stopped shopping here because it wasn't worth my time to be treated so badly - plus their selection is really not quality stuff.
Sorry to hear about this problem. I've worked hard for the past 17 years to make this a great place to shop. perhaps you might try us again. All the best...
Horrible Place of Business – The person that wrote professional business must have been the owner who was trying to write a good review. I agree with the other writer, this is a horrible place of business. They were rude and just VERY unprofessional. The owner never gave me her attention and I felt like a second class citizen. One of her employees told me to move out of her way and almost knocked me over. Her only response was that "you are in my way and you need to move to the over side of the room." I will never visit this place again or recommend to anyone to visit. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. The clothes are also over priced and look worn.
I'm so sorry to hear you had a problem with my store. I'm been working hard for the past 17 years to make this a great and fun place to shop. We have several consignors who ship their items to us from around the US. in addition, we have several high end retailers in the Austin area, sending their overstock items to our store, all with new price tags on them. I hope you will try us again. All the best...Paula
Poor business practices/rude employee! – I was treated very poorly by the employees at this store. I consigned clothing, most of which sold, but I had to practically beg for my remaining items and payment. During my interactions with a particular employee, I was hung up on, told they didn't have time to cut checks, and then snubbed while at the store. The fact they were rude on top of retaining my goods and payment just added insult to injury.
This store needs a better system for keeping up with money owed, otherwise, just to practice better manners. The arrogance of the employees outweighs the merchandise.
Friendly and Professional Service – I have been doing business with Baubles and Beads for the past 3 years and have always found them to be friendly and polite. They have answered my questions and helped me throught the process of selling my items efficiently. I have never been treated unfairly or rudly in all the time I have been doing business with them. My checks have always come on time and if I had a problem they were always helpful and professional in handling it.
I recommend them to my friends and family and even though I have moved to San Antonio I am still doing business with them and will continue to do so in the future.
The rudest employees anywhere! – While this store offers the opportunity to purchase clothing merchandise at a reduced price, their store personnel are so RUDE that it's not worth the discount. I find better customer service (and even product selection) at Goodwill or Thrift Town.
The first time I was in the store, I thought it was one poorly chosen employee that I happened upon. In subsequent visits, I have found the store clerks to be so INDIFFERENT and OUTRIGHT INSULTING to the customers, that it seems to be a management value to be inconsiderate to the very people who are keeping them in business.
Not only was the woman at the counter rude to me personally, I witnessed her basically telling another customer who was checking out that she didn't know how to do math because she miscalculated the discount that was offered on sale merchandise.
I am surprised that the store can stay in business with the horrible way they treat customers. I know that I will not be going back!
And it's a shame that there is not a better consignment store in South Austin to take my business too.
Beware of consigning your clothes here, poor customer service... – I peeked inside this store once and thought it a good place to consign. After encounters with a rude employee, a missing item, and a $4 check...I realized I was wrong!
Baubles and Beads consignment policy reads "Checks are ready on the 10th of each month for articles sold ($25 or more) the previous month. Consignor may pick up check before the end of the month. Baubles and Beads will mail out checks at the end of each month, if not picked up by Consignor."
I consigned 5 articles of clothing mid-March. I called the end of April and was told 2 of my items had sold for full price...but for less than $25...and I could pick up a check at the end of May. I went to get the check the end of May and was told it wasn't ready and I would have to come back after the 10th of June. What!?! This wasn't the policy, yet I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I called the first week of June to arrange to pick up the remainder of my things and the check after the 10th. I was told everything would be ready. On June 15th I arrived and was rudely told "You're supposed to call first!" After reminding the woman (Dalinda) I'd called the week before she said "Well, you'll need to come back Tuesday!"
That Tuesday I called first (b/c of the previous trouble) and was told "I didn't mean the check would be ready, but your itmes are ready!" I reminded the woman of store policy and of what she told me the 15th of June. She snipped "Okay, fine, come get your check and your items!"
I arrived...my clothes and a $4 check were shoved at me. Later, I realized I only a dress and pair of shoes were in the bag of items returned to me. (Consigned 5 items, sold 2 = 3 items to be returned to me.) Additionally, I'm not really confident the $4 check covered my %40 each of the 2 items sold. I know the earrings alone I consigned were priced at $15 and sold for full price. My percentage should've been $6 on that item alone.
This store lacks character and human spirit.
