Underrated Take-Out – Badly spoken-English means more authentic cuisine - I'd say this is the most underrated cheap Chinese food in Austin.

Unworthy of business and DIRTY! – I went there with my boyfriend for lunch and we ordered the spring rolls for appetizer. After I dipped the thing in the peanut sauce and took one bite of the spring roll I noticed that the peanut sauce had a bunch of MOLD GROWING ON IT!! I spit it out immediately and tried to get the waitress's attention. After 5 minutes she came to ask what was wrong, and I showed it to her and she was just going to bring me back another peanut sauce but I told her I did not want to eat there anymore and to close out our tab. She still CHARGED us for the whole thing and barely apologized. NEVER AGAIN!

They were good up until I found the pubic hair in my food – I have been a frequent customer of Sun Hing UNTIL TODAY.

I ordered delivery from Sun Hing. They delivered it to my office and what did I discover? A PUBIC HAIR IN MY FRIED RICE. I threw the food away. When I got off work, I called them and told them what happened and demanded I get a refund. They told me they needed evidence in order to get a refund. What did I do? I dug the box out of the trash and went to the restaurant.

Upon arrival, they were willing to give me 7 of the 10 dollars I had paid, because they said there was a 3 dollar delivery charge. MUST I REMIND YOU THAT THERE WAS A PUBIC HAIR IN MY FOOD? THAT IS A DEFINITE HEALTH AND SANITARY VIOLATION... Anyways, I continue to argue with them and finally a couple of customers begin walking out.

Then the employees threatened to call the police, which they did. When the police officer arrived he mediated and got them to give me a refund, i gave them back their pube-food and then the cop wrote down a report saying that he witnessed the pubic hair in the food and that I could use that report to give to the health dept.

This is not slander of Sun Hing restaurant, merely an account of my personal experience. If you would like to see the police report, it is on file with the Austin Police Department.

Delicious chinese food. – I ate there last Friday and I can't wait to try other entrees! I had the sweet and sour shrimp (which was absolutely delicious) and shrimp with vegetables. I was highly impressed with the freshness of the food. We also had crab puffs (also known as crab rangoon) and they were excellent. I saw there is one bad review but that was from 2002 and they have certainly improved since then!

It's 2007-- do you know where the best Chinese Cuisine is? – Sun Hing attracts plenty of UT students with lunch specials in the coveted $5 range. Chef's specialties include `chicken with lemongrass, orange-flavored beef, and Mixed Meat With Bean Curd in Hot-Pot. Sun Hing also serves Vietnamese noodle soup and a variety of bun (vermicelli) dishes with charcoal-broiled pork, fried tofu, and other toppings.

They're delivery service is excellent as well. Sun Hing defines prompt and courteous... it's hard to justify ordering out anywhere else! (Don't underestimate the size of the large soups--they're huge!!)

Rip Off, Nazi Owner, Below Average Food – The last and final time I went to this questionable establishment, the head of the restaurant tried to rip us off. Instead of giving us a bowl of soup, she attempted to charge us a large bowl for a little cup. The food is below average with an obvious Americanized, sat around in wok for days, taste. Plus the food costs more than nearby Yen Ching, and it is much worse.

Yum! Try the orange or sesame chicken! Everything here is good and pretty inexpensive.
