Austin Pizza Garden is located in the James A. Patton Building (the "Old Rock Store"), a 100 year old historic landmark in the Oak Hill area of southwest Austin, TX. Family owned & operated for 14 years, we pride ourselves in providing fresh, authentic, New York style pizza to hungry Austinites.
We create each pizza pie from scratch- that includes homemade dough, original pizza sauce, & fresh cut ingredients. Because of the preparation, our thin crust gourmet pies are unique to any pizza in Austin. We also offer a full appetizer list, sandwiches, Stromboli, lasagna, & a full beer & wine list.
Our large banquet area upstairs (seats up to 50) is perfect for sports banquets, birthday parties, & rehearsal dinners.
Austin Pizza Garden provides great food in a beautiful, historic atmosphere. Come by & try out our pizza- we guarantee you'll be back again.
Great Building, Great Atmosphere, Great Pizza! – I recently ate at Austin Pizza Garden with my boyfriend and it was fantastic. Waiter was great and very friendly, pizza (especially the cheese and crust) was phenomenal. I'll definitely be back soon, I want to try some of pie combinations they have on the menu.
Move over Gatti's! This is the best pizza in town! – Wow! I was just in there tonight, it was busy. I got put on a waiting list for about 20 minutes, but we didn't mind. The host staff took good care of my party. They served us drinks at the bar and kept checking to see if we were alright, and they had a lobby full. Somehow they managed to keep everyone happy. We got sat and order drinks and had a good time. Our server was excellent! We ordered salads that came out as fast as the server could put the order in. It was just perfect timing! We had finished our salads and our server had given us plates for the pizza and said the pizza was getting cut and on its way. We had the #2, forgot the name, and a #5. Both were awesome! Very unique crust. None that i have very had before. My recommendation for those is to try the Austin Pizza Garden. It was a wonderful experience and a very homey pizza joint! Forgot to mention the ambiance that makes you feel very welcomed. Also it is said to be haunted which makes it a cool place to eat. I will be dining there again.
What a huge disappointment! Who is runnning this place Dumb and Dumber? – WoW! What a huge disappointment!
First night we went , we waited 40 minutes only to have our waitress tell us that the Kitchen staff had burned our Pizza, ( that?s cause the game was on in the bar and the Kitchen staff was standing around watching the game.) The second time we went in, we were told that they had to remake our Pizza because the Kitchen Staff had dropped it on the floor. So what can I say, Is this the Pizza the Best? The toppings and sauce are wonderful but the crust is hard and tough like it had been over worked. Would I go back? No cause the place has been jinxed for us. P.S. Could somebody do something about that tacky CD Player sitting on Fireplace Mantel. Ok so this place isn?t 5 star dining but come on guys get it together. It?s a shame what stupid mistakes and lack of attention can do to a restaurant.
Enjoyed the Lunch Special Pizza – I recently ate lunch here with a friend. We both loved our pizza lunch "specials". I had the cajun which just sounded good and was well, even better than expected. The lunch size personal pizza was perfect. The service was very good and friendly. If I had a complaint it was that the salad was the "bag mix" variety which contained a majority of ice berg. The dressing was good though and overall we had a very nice time.
perfect in EVERY way – zesty, tasty tomato sauce topped with fresh, tasty (not greasy or overcooked) chopped veggies and delish chunks of hearty meats, topped with the perfect amount of mozarella (not too heavy but oh so tasty)...all piled on tope of a relatively thick, but crunchy crust. it really doesn't get much better than that (obviously we ordered some kind of supreme). the large for $18 wasn't all that large, but this pizza isn't to be swallowed, it's to be savored. the homemade oil/vinegar dressing was yummy....sampled and ok'd others homemades as well. great atmosphere (rustic, yet cozy setting). what a treat. this is the place and the way to eat pizza!!
Editorial Review by Citysearch Editors – The charming building, located in the southwest part of the city, is famous for thin-crust pizza.
Pizza Heaven – If there is a pizza heaven it is at Austin Pizza Garden. The pizza takes awhile to cook but it is more then worth the wait. The best pizza I have ever had.
Outstanding Pizza – This pizza is great...the colossal is my favorite...I would recommend this retaurant to anyone who loves a great pizza
Best of the Best – The best pizza this side of NYC. My wife and family eat here at least once per week. Rustic atmosphere in a National Landmark Building makes you think you are in a BBQ place, but don't let that fool you. You also have to try the Caesar salad.
Delish! – The best pizza around. I don't think I've tasted any better. Try the vegetarian- it's superb!
