not very tactful and kind of shady – i understand that everyone is making money off the sale of this car. with that said, when i'm asking about a vehicle, the first thing i don't want to hear is "we don't make any money off of these cars so we can't lower the price much." we were barely pointed in the direction of the car before these words came out of his mouth. we had been car shopping all day and i was tired and didn't want to deal with that so when he asked if we wanted to test drive it i told my better half that i just wanted to go home. all of a sudden it was a different story. "well, i really want to sell you guys a car so i would love to make a deal with you. i haven't sold a car all day so tell me what you want me to do." it was too little to late.
we thought maybe it was just this employee so we came back a second time and dealt with someone new. he seemed nice enough but still didn't want to budge. when we said we were going to go home and think about the price for a little he shook our hands and waved us off. as we were walking out the door he said "don't forget your check book, next time!" i just thought that was not very tactful.
we ended up going to round rock nissan and purchasing our car there. i love everyone there and sylvia got us a really great deal.
i guess what i'm trying to say is, if you're looking for a nissan, go to round rock nissan. south point just seems a bit shady.
Shaddy Sales and Financing Dept. WATCH OUT – I went in with great credit and a great trade in. I worked with one of the sales men and he was very informative and did his job well at the beginning. I test drove the car at night and decided I liked the car. He let me do a borrowed car agreement and mentioned I will have to come in around 4pm to finish the paper work. I said I could not come in around 4pm and he said that we could fill out the paper work and push it through at 4pm. If I decided not to take the car I could bring it in on the way to work, I took it home and decided I did not want the car and they told me the paper work has already been done. The sales man was confused as well. Seems the Finance and Sales Manager scammed me into the purchase of the car and did not care to ask the sales man what was set up already. It turns out I am stuck with the car. It so happens I love the car and am pleased with it until today when I found out the rear suspension is all messed up (oh yea the car has 12,000 miles on it). So now it is going into the shop. I am hoping they take care of it.
The point here is that I was scammed into filling out the paper work by being told one thing and secretly doing something else without my knowledge.
Just make sure you do not sign ANYTHING until you are 100% sure you want to buy the car. Do not trust what they have to say. They are liars!
This was my best car buying experience ever! – I recently bought a 2008 Nissan Armada at South Point Nissan. I did a search online for nissan dealers and ended up at South Points web site. I ask for an online quote on an Armada and received a quote from Mr Wright the internet sales manager in less than an hour. I then did some research at KBB and Edmounds to see what others were paying for 2008 Armada's and to see if the trade in range he offered me was reasonable. The numbers he gave me were actually better than what I researched. I could gone on for ever. Long story short. We aggreed on the price , trade in and interest rate all through email. I spent exactly 1 hour and 20 minutes at the dealership which included the test drive, financing and them washing and filling my Armada up with gas.
I would reccomend South Point Nissan to all my friends and family. Using the internet sales dept. made it so easy.

Great Service – After reading the reviews on here, I was highly sceptable in taking my car to this dealership. Only because I had to have some programming done that was proprietary software along with the starter going out on me did I relent and bite the bullet. What a surprise. My starter was covered under my warranty, the service was professional, courteous,complete, and quick. I will not hesitate to do business with them again. My only complaint is the switch board does not have an option to ring the service department which opens at 7am, and the switch board operator comes in at 7:30. A simple option programed in the phone system would have made this a perfect transaction.
If you can avoid them do. – Service department are absolutly awful. You will always wait at least two to three hours longer than they say. The waiting area smells of fumes. The rest rooms are disgusting and no one responds if you ask a question.
The after service is rude and flippant, but when you go to buy a car they are really nice and offer you all kinds of incentives that they really don't mean.
Never have I had a good experience there.
Service department = hassles. – Be prepared to go through a real hassle when trying to get warranty work done. The service manager was not at all pleasant to deal with and did not offer any suggestion. I had to call the dealer I got my truck from and have him take care of things from 400 miles away. If you have to go to South Point Nissan for warranty work, do yourself a favor and bring as much documentation as you can. I'd strongly recommend just taking the trip up to Round Rock. I've had good experiences with them.
TERRIBLE BUSINESS ETHICS – They made us an offer, and then went back on it. They are a bunch of crooks. Do not go here!!!!!!!!!
Watchout for their finance department!!! Very sneaky – Got a great deal on a '06 Titan, everything was going fine, until finance office. Was lied to about where the incentives (rebate) was that was part of the negotiated price. Identified it on the tax form, but hid in all the other paperwork and shuffled papers around nervously. I believed the finance guy, thinking he did what was negotiated, he did not... Found out later that evening he outright lied about the info, and I beat myself up for not getting up and walking out before signing on the bottom line.
Typifies the car buying experience- shady and smarmy. I tell as many people to avoid Southpoint as I can. Bought a Z at Round Rock Nissan in 2003, and had a fantastic experience, I should have remembered that.
Horrible sales service!!!! – let me start by telling you not to TRY and buy a vehicle at South point nissan. It all started a few weeks ago when I got a good quote from a dealership out of state. I relayed the message to the Internet sales manager from South point to see if they can offer me the same deal. He later emailed me back saying that they can be close but that they did not have the vehicle in inventory so they would have to order it from the factory, I was fine with the 45-60 day wait, but for the wait that was to come. After working on a price I told him to go ahead and order the vehicle. So he took my 500 deposit and supposedly ordered it. I called him back a few days later and asked him how the financing process was going. he then told me that we have to cancel the deposit and work on the financing. I was a little confused but agreed. After a few more days I called him and asked him for an update, he told me that me being a first time buyer did not have enough credit to apply myself and that I would need a cosigner. I told him that I would find one. The same day I did. I called him and gave him all the stuff he needed to start the paper work. 2 days later I called him AGAIN and asked him for an update, he told me that the person that I used for a cosigner was not going to work and I would need a different one. 2 days after that I called him back and gave him the info for another cosigner. 2 MORE days went by and still no word so I called him AGAIN and he said that the cosigners was well above expectations and that it will work. so I gave him the green light to go ahead and get everything done. Then today I WALK IN to the store for the first time to actually talk face to face with him and he says that he needs my information again to submit it to Nissan Financial (something that should have been done a long time ago!!!) He then sent me off. 4 hours later he calls and says that everything went through but that we missed our window to order the 2007s! am I not worth being a customer
Bad customer service – I was lazy and took my car in just to replace a light bulb. I was first in line in the morning, and expected my car to be done in about half an hour to an hour's wait. After all, it is the dealership. During this time, the service guy calls me out to convince me to replace my belts, hoses, rotate and balance my tires, alignment, oil change, do the 60,000 mile service, etc. All of which I either told him that I've already had service performed on or to just give me a quote. I did not get my car back until an hour and a half later, at which he tells me that they don't have the parts. They were telling me that they don't have a bulb!?! My family and I been going to South Point Nissan for years, and I believe the management has recently been changed. It is no longer the same. I am very disappointed and I will not go back. I do not recommend them unless you're ready to spend over $1,000 on any given day.
