Austin entrepreneur Gary Hoover opened Austin's Bookstop in the early 1980s, finally selling it to Barnes & Noble in 1989. Bookstop now offers the same membership club (with book discounts) as Barnes & Noble. Stocking thousands of books, this store even has an entire section devoted to crossword puzzle books! Other book categories (besides fiction and non-fiction, of course) include business, computers, cooking, health, poetry, religion, sports and travel.
