This place has been one of my fave go-to spots for years. Nice atmosphere, nestled away with a garden courtyard. Tasty rolls at reasonable prices keep my coming back.
My favorite "secret" sushi bar. Everyone knows about Uchi, Musashino and Kome, but Korea House and Chef Ji have a special place in my heart. Ask chef to surprise you. He will make you something spectacular.
Korean food – I've been going here for years! I love the food and hospitality this place has to offer. What I don't like is the BBQ at the table. When I was in So. Korea they actually cooked on a grill at your table. Made the experience more enjoyable! I think this place has the best Galbi, not too sweet like some other joints.
LOVE IT! – Our family has been dining at Korea House for years. We absolutely love this restaurant. The food is awesome and the prices are so affordable! I would HIGHLY recommend this place to others!
So Yummy!!! – I've been a big fan of Korea House for years. The food is wonderful, service is fast and polite, and the location is perfect - right next to the Alamo Drafthouse Village. It makes it a perfect pre- or after-movie place for a meal. I'm always greeted with warmth when I arrive, and while they are attentive, they don't hover, which I really like. Prices are totally reasonable and weekday sushi specials make it affordable to enjoy your favorite sushi dishes on a regular basis.
I especially love the beef bulgogi, shrimp tempura, and sushi combinations. Give it a try. You'll love it. And there's even a beautiful gazebo and koi pond out front to enjoy when you're done. :)

austin's best – Austin's best korean food, family owned and operated,20+ years I have been eating here, always fresh, tasty, and the best lunch specials in town.Service is outstanding and I realy do not understand mr. chun's experience, try it you will love it!
Worst Service and mediocre food – True stories told.
This restaurant left me a horrible impression at my very first visit. After I signed my name on the paycheck, the waiter literally got out of his register counter and gave my an eloquent educational speech on 'appropriate tipping', as if I was not complicated and sensitive enough to understand their laborious yet reluctant water-pouring. But I added the tip up to his expectation anyway.
Second time I was there for a friend's birthday party. I ordered only the appetizer since the occasion is to late for my usual lunch. I just wanted to be there as a friend. There, again, I got an valuable lesson on how to be considerate toward waiters and a math lesson on how to calculate a 15% tip after tax. I admit that I am not the most generous tipper. But my tip is well above 15% pre-tax and I never felt obligatory to tip this lousy attitude. If were not for the Korean friends present, I would really ignore her and just leave.
The food is just ok, to be honest. You can still get a satisfactory meal there but prepare to be hated afterwards because of tip-digit deficiency.
It's ok! – Well, I liked their service because it wasn't so annoying like at some places. I really don't care that the waitresses don't understand basic English, I'm ok with that till that get what I need and they do. I even like that, I like to eat Korean food served by Korean :-)
I'm going to come back!
Great Food... Horrible Service – I absolutely love Korean food, and I heard this place was great. Well the food is, but the service is absolutely horrible. I am normally a great tipper (20-25%) and I contemplated not tipping at all. I thought to myself who would get the tip anyway? We walked in and someone took our order, and we got most of our order. But if you wanted to add something or change something or ask for more water or beverage (forget about it). It is as if they go out of their way to avoid you. I walked away with a bad taste in my mouth, not because of the food but because we were treated horribly.
Excellent Korean food, but don't expect much else. – Korea house is a great place to get Korean food at a reasonable price, especially the Bulgolgi or Bibimbab. The sushi is lackluster for Austin. Frequently, the sushi menu will not mention every ingredient (such as cream cheese). Also, the service ranged from decent to poor. Bottom line - Go to Korea house for Korean food not for Japanese sushi and not if poor service can seriously hamper your ability to enjoy the food.
