Cook Walden is Austin Family – My family has been dealing with Cook Walden for more than a half century. I am a Great Grandfather and both my grandparents are burried in Cook Walden's Pflugerville cenetary. The concern they show and the extraordinary professionalism is beyond what anyone could expect of a business. I hold four Bronze Stars with V for Valor Device and three Purple Hearts. No man has ever questioned this old paratrooper's courage. However, the day I lost my Dad I had the emotional strength of a frightened and insecure small child. The compassion and professional respect given me by the Cook Walden folks was the rock upon which a young officer recently returned from Vietnam stood. I hold a degree in Political Science but my greatest lessons in Americanism came from my Grandpa who said of Cook Walden more than 50 years ago, "All Americans prosper based on what we call a free enterprise system. The right of the people to own everything from our own government and property to our privately owned businesses is what built this country. A truly successful American business must be a three way deal son. The management who owns the business, the labor who work for that business and the customer must all be satisfied with the company. Cook Walden will always be an example of how our nation survives in a truely FREE enterprise system."
I would not only recommend Cook Walden to my fellow veterans, I would do as my forefathers once did when they pledged their fortunes, their lives and most importantly their sacred honor to each other on behalf of their country. I will pledge my sacred honor that anyone who uses Cook Walden will be treated with a degree of professionalism, respect and compassion that is beyond the scope of any business I have ever seen in the past 66 years.

Horrible funeral home – This was the most unprofessional group I have ever seen. They changed the time of internment after the obituary was in the paper, indicated that it was to be at 2 am the day following the service, the pastor chosen by them failed to appear at the graveside service. They failed to determine that at the time the graveside service was originally scheduled another graveside service was to be held adjacent to the location of our grave, which other service included a mariachi band. This would have ruined the military honors service for our loved one. They gave us conflicting information about many aspects of the funeral, and generally were very little help to the widow. Don't use them.
