Best Bowling Pro Shop in Austin – The guys in the pro shop @ Highland are the BEST...Gary is one of the nicest and most knowledgeable guys around. The pro shop has all the newest bowling balls and products. Wes & Gary are very helpful, they will work with you and help you find the right bowling ball to improve your bowling scores. Good luck with the second Strike-a-lott Pro Shop in south Austin.
Highland lanes a turn for the worse – Hello, I have bowling at highland lanes for over 20 years.
I bought a ball at there new pro shop owned by wess malott. four weeks later on league night my ball cracked. I though hey no biggie the guys will fix it. boy was i wrong. I would understand if i bought the ball four months ago....but not even a 90 day waranty nothing...when Steve ran the pro shop he would have fixed it no prblem...to bad for highland my friends were like i wont buy from there my family wont even go there now..... I hear they are opening up a shop at west gate lanes now....look out south austin....i will be going some where else.....thakn you for twenty years highland but you lost me and about 50 family and friends.
Austin Standard in Bowling – I've been bowling here since I was a kid growing up in Austin. I love this place! They've updated it over the years of course...but it has always been fabulous and fun! It is great for bringing friends and for dates. It is a fun way to spend an evening but still being a active.
Bowl while eating burritos or burgers, then play some pinball. – In Short
The alley, built in the mid-1970s, but fully updated, has a quaint, small-town feeling. Al 40 lanes have automatic scoring, plus tables for eating and drinking. A small arcade adds to the gaming options. The crowd is diverse, including groups of teenagers, couples, young professionals and families with kids of various ages, since bumper bowling is available. Between frames, enjoy tasty grilled bacon-and-cheese sandwiches or Tex-Mex grub. There's also a full bar.
Lunch Time Fun – Highland is a great place to go for that quick lunch time bowling fix. Always lanes open and the staff is very friendly. If you need anything, Steve at the Pro Shop is very helpful. Come out and join me and my friends for a lunch time bowl.
Great Family Gathering Place – I love the fact that Highland Lanes has a non-smoking area, so we didn't smell so smoky. I also like the individual computer for each lane, so we didn't have to share the computer with other people.
Highland Rocks – I have to say with Highland Lanes' upgrades that the place is looking better and better. I have been bowling regularly for practice and league bowling at highland for almost 3 years, and of all the bowling alleys in austin it is one of the best.
The price of bowling is fair and the staff is very helpful, unlike other places in town. The only other place I bowl practice is at Dart Bowl, which is part of the family
New Floors! – New floors in the Pits! Thank you! Air conditioners that work! Thank you! You are really making this a better place!
Over-rated – I didn't enjoy Highland lanes too much because the facilities were not clean and the balls were all chipped or dirty.
