I cannot recommend Blue Whale enough. The office staff were courteous and very responsive. They gave me multiple quotes so I knew exactly what my money was getting me.
On the day of the move, Andrew and Alton were great. They were careful and attentive. They were good natured about having to carry everything ~30 yards up a hill to get to the apartment, since the truck couldn't get there.
Their positive and lighthearted attitude made an experience that I was nervous about very pleasant.
I usually don't post reviews like this, but these guys deserve it.
These guys were great. They knew I was skeptical about moving companies but they ensured that they took care of all of my belongings like they were their own. So sweet.
I would definitely recommend these guys to anyone else in the Austin area that is looking for a reputable moving company.
Blue Whale showed up early and ready to get started. The two guys they sent were hard working and courteous. We got the pricing established before they got started and it was fair.
Everything went as planned. The guys were great as they helped me box up a few things I didn't have stored.
Thank you to Stacey for the referral. These guys were great!
Well worth the money! Amazing service, highly recommended! Don't bother searching anywhere else, these guys are going to take excellent care of you.
I was stressed about my move and Blue Whale did a great job providing me quality service at a fair price. Their crew was awesome and took care of all my items like they were their own. They even helped moved some heavy furniture and put together my bed.
Great Experience! I used Blue Whale for a recent move just to load a rented truck. The guys were very friendly and professional. They worked quickly, and they got the whole move done faster than I had hoped. I would definitely use Blue Whale again.
How is Blue Whale still in Business?!?! – I attempted to use Blue Whale this past weekend. I had an appointment on Saturday afternoon. I took off of work early to be there and had moved the majority of my belongings downstairs from my second floor apartment. After my scheduled time had come and gone, I called their office with zero luck, it was after hours. I waited for over 6 hours for a truck that never showed up and never even recieved a phone call.
On Monday, I called Blue Whale and spoke to Jimmy. He was apologetic but never gave me an explanation on why no one showed up. Jimmy assured me that he would get back to me with updates throughout the day to help alleviate this terrible situation. Hours went by and no update. I finally spoke to Brad who gave me pathetic excuse after another in attempt to cover and defend his manager and company.
I am a small business owner and understand things like this can happen but zero phone calls telling me what's going on? Zero respect for the customer who just got the shaft? How do these guys stay in business??? I would not recommend these guys to my worst enemy.
After 4 phone calls three days later, two movers came and moved what was left of my stuff. The movers themselves were genuinely good guys and I had zero problems with them. They were careful with my possessions.
The owner needs to overhaul his so called management team, they are a joke!
To top it off, I got a $200 bill from my Apartment complex for not vacating on the day I was scheduled to move!
THANKS FOR NOTHING BLUE WHALE!!!!!
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER – I just used Blue Whale to move me this past weekend, and it was absolutely the worst move of my life. I had bought a groupon to help save on cost, and it ended up being the WORST choice of my life....truly. They were an hour late, and as soon as they arrived they complained about how tired they were. After an hour of moving, only four wardrobe boxes had been moved. Additonally, only one of the movers worked and the other was down in the truck on his cell phone. I called Blue Whale, and Jimmy, the manager, after hearing my concerns said they probably were tired and asked to speak with them. I said I would prefer not to because they clearly still had quite a bit to move (1 bedroom apt), and I was concerned they would break my things. He said if they did, they would have to pay for them so not to worry. Cut to my bed being broken so I called Jimmy again and he said I had to fill out a claim form and hopefully next week someone could come out and look at it and that IF it was determined "broken" (had ripped off the center support) they would pay sixty cents per pound. Clearly, not what he had said before, and the movers didn't even have the claims form. Three and half hours later they finally had emptied my 800 sf one bedroom apartment. And they told me they are unable to move cleaning products: bottle of Windex, detergent, etc. Only then to get to the new place and break the leg off my nightstand. The move took five and half hours, again to move: one queen bed, small dining room table with four chairs, one dresser, one couch, and about 15 boxes. Not to mention the fact that they left two boxes and a bag of dog food at my old apartment that I had to go back and retreive. It was truly awful and terribly upsetting. I was so frustrated regarding the service I received as well as the management "support" I recieved. I have moved about 10-15 times in Austin, and this was by far the worst service I have EVER received. Please save yourself the headache and trouble, and do NOT use Blue Whale.
You may not realize how bad they are for years to come – I moved into a new home about 5 years ago and used Blue Whale moving company. Over time, my mattress has started sinking. I called the company who sold me my bed to see if I had a warranty issue and after they examined it, they discovered that my bed had never been put together properly. Blue Whale moving company in some places only finger tightened the screws and underneath, in the most important part of the bed, they didn't screw the supports in at all and the bed was literally falling apart. I guess they thought a single mom would never be able to lift a king size mattress to discover the lazy, shoddy service they provided. They almost ruined a $2000 mattress and they certainly have messed with my sleep for the past few years!
