BEST SALSA EVER!!!.
I like the food too but I come here for the salsa, no question. I buy it a couple times a month and keep it at home. That's how good it is!
I realized recently that the reason I am never really satisfied with the salsa at other restaurants is because it isn't like A La Carrera's. No kidding.
worst mexican, poor service. We felt like an incovenience to our waiter. There were only 4 tables occupied, but no one seemed to have time to tend to us. The margarita was watered down, so we tried to order a shot of tequila. The waiter was very discouraging--like saying "it's going to be $6.50" He didn't say this in a way that was just warning us of the price, but more like it was inconvenient for him to do. The attitude of all the staff was poor. No one seemed busy, but none of them looked interested in making any money. We have been there for breakfast and it wasn't bad. But there are too many Mexican restaurants to waste your time on this one. I would give this place zero stars.
Homemade Mexican food served in a clean, colorful room..
In Short
The interior mixes toned-down tropicana with urban chic. Steel and glass transform the space into the ideal place to grab a great margarita or some tasty Mexican fare. The queso flameado, with melted white cheese and mild chorizo is served with hot, fresh tortillas and could easily serve four as an appetizer. Enchiladas and tamales are served in rich, brown gravy. A variety of chicken dishes are available, as are vegetable enchiladas.
Good food. Not much on atmosphere, but if your hungry for some good tex-mex food, this is the place for you. Great selection, nice portions, decent price. They have been around a long time and know how to make it right. So if your hungry good ol boy, and you know who you are, go eat, enjoy, you wont be disappointed.
Not Bad. The atmosphere is wonderful for a local strip center restaurant. Frequenting mom-and-pop style establishments is always refreshing. The food was okay... my tamale plate wasn't particularly hot when I got it. I also am not a fan of their $1+ charge for any baskets of chips after your second -- come on guys, aren't free chips and salsa a standard? The value was good, though. I went for dinner, but I'm sure lunch time would be the most appropriate time to dine.
Extra clean/fresh food. A Sparkling clean restuarant is the first thing I look for and this one is it! This is a storefront restaurant .....not much atmosphere, but the fresh food makes up for it. Locals and spanish speaking quests have discovered this to be the best mexican food in town. Try #1 special for a very good meal. Considerate staff and fast service. Waiters are quiet and respectful. Best meal in town for the money.
