inconsistent Service. Generally I like going to this place. My fiance loves the free popcorn and I love the Blue Moon. It is small and sometimes some of the other customers seem a bit seedy. The bar staff are usually OK but there was a new guy on last Friday who spend five minutes ignoring me at the bar whilst he counted the money in the till - when he finally noticed I was there his attitude was terrible. When I gave him my order he just kind of looked at me like I was stupid and said "WHAT???". His service was so poor I just walked out. I'd hesitate to go back here now, which is a shame as we have had some good times at the Graduate.
The "NEW" Graduate. Best beer prices around, 6 taps, Full Liquor selection. Happy Hour is $2 wells and $1 PBR $1.50 BUD. This is my Favorite neighborhood spot. Watch games on TV and eat all of the free popcorn. You can't beat a place that has a three bottle JAGERATOR. I wish I was a student b/c of $2 sierra, $2 wells, $1 PBR all the time. It is cozy and sorta divey. Just my kinda place. Also gotta love that the Pixies are on the jukebox.
my only complaint.... no beer on tap! paying a ton of money for bottles while you're sitting across the street from a safeway where you could buy a 6 pack for the same price as a beer here.... not much of a draw. But the margaritas are awesome.
A quiet college-town bar for no-frills drinkers..
The Scene
The main feature of the room is the bar itself: A curvy wooden structure usually tended by an equally curvy barmaid. The rest of the room is a darkened den with a couple of tabletop video games and a jukebox featuring funky selections, from Bob Marley to George Clinton. A downstairs poolroom was opened in April 2003. Two small TVs hang over the bar give people something to yell at when not in conversation with each other.
The Draw
As the neon martini glasses in the window indicate, it's all about stiff drinks here. Shots are commonly bought as gifts for other patrons. Herradura is a standout tequila and Red Tale Ale bottles are a good selection from the otherwise mainstream beer list. The name of this bar is deceptive, as the crowd is a bit older than those at surrounding college bars.
Come around. Secret Room. That's the place. Sunken dance floor. Music. Peoples.
