South Davis Rental saved my vacation I was traveling through from California going to Yellowstone ,Tetons, and other locations before returning to Ca.My lights on my trailer was not working properly. I had called others in the area and had my trailer cheched. The problem was in my Uhaul Plug they put on my car. No one at uhaul was willing to help me. I called other Uhall deliers and no one was not willing to help me in a short noitce. I had other camp dates set up and was on a tight seedule !!! Another Uhaul delerdid the instlation in Ca. and I had a warranty on the inslitation. I called other Uhaul delears in the area they only had the part and was quoting me days before they could do the repair. I purched the part from Uhaul and I diden't care about the warranty I just wanted it fixed so I could keep my secudle with out changing it. I called South Davis they found the problem and repaired it within hrs and I was on my way. South Davis Rental Owner put me in line first because of my problem helped me and put me on my way. He fixed the problem and helped me out in my time of need.
Not the full story – I can understand the feelings behind the two negative reviews on this page. I don't agree with them, but I can understand where they are coming from.
When you go into South Davis Rental, you have to be honest with what you're needing to do. If you go in and tell them "here's my job... I have no idea how to get it done" they will help you figure it out, get you what you need, and show you how to work it. If you go in knowing exactly what you need they'll assist you there as well.
If you go in wishy-washy and unsure of what you're doing but confident you're the smartest person in the room, no matter what room you're in, well, break out the poncho 'cause you're now standing in front of a high-powered fan and a 50lb. bag of crap is about to be emptied in your direction.
I've been dealing with these guys for almost ten years. There's a lot of attitude at SDR, but if you know that going in, it's highly entertaining. They've saved my bacon numerous times. They have what you need, and they are very, very fair in their pricing.

DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE LET ALONE THE OWNER ERIC. HE IS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND DOES NOT RESPECT HIS CUSTOMERS. IF I COULD GIVE NEGATIVE STARS I WOULD. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
worse then a NYC street vender – Basically once you enter in this dirty rental shop, keep a hold of your wallet. There are no rental prices, it's all about trying to not get ripped off. So if you absolutely love bartering with a jerky fat man with stains on his shirt, then you will absolutely loves this place. If you are looking for a clean honest rental shop, go to diamond rentals. There prices are cheaper and they are friendly and nice..
Worst service ever – Worst Service Ever. Will never go back.
Great selection of rental items – I was in the party rental business for over 20 years so I know a good rental outfit when I see one. South Davis Rental goes out of their way to stock what you need and make sure it's in good condition. They are the only rental store in the area that has canoes and some other hard to find items like party supplies and patio heaters. Great customer service and they really work to make you happy.
We always use South Davis Rental – There have been quite a few times that I have rented tools for my husband to use from these guys. I usually have no idea what I'm talking about, and they are always really helpful and get me just what I need. They also take time to explain products they have for rent over the phone. I think their prices are quite competitive, and once when I was late returning a nail gun because I had to take my son to the doctor, they were kind enough to waive the late fee. I like these guys, and would definitely recommend them.
No thanks – It was too expensive. Charged us more than they said they would and would not refund. Regardless of us following their rules and bringing the uhaul back in the same shape with more than the amount of gas they provided us when we started. Employees don't know how to use equipment either.
