Reviews for Guadalahonky's Restaurant

over a year ago best. – We had heard skeptical reviews but decided to give it a try. The wait was long (Fri night) which we took as a good sign. However, the service was friendly but very slow, and the food arrived looking somewhat like it had been put through a blender. There was little taste, even having ordered it "spicy." Chips and salsa were not plentiful, and no refills were offered. As we were leaving, we ran into some friends who confirmed our thoughts about this place. Their experience was similar, and they were in a completely different section of the restaurant, with a different server. It wasn't horrible, but we won't go back.

good – The food here has improved greatly in the last few years. I recommend the chile colorado enchilada, as the chile verde can be very bland. You're always safe with the tacos. The fajitas are less than desirable. However, the chips and salsa are always there, and the flavor is to die for.

One of the few places that serves booze in the Point of the Mountain area. – The Scene
Nothing pretentious--just a casual, older-style Mexican restaurant. Grab a booth, order a margarita and relax.

The Drinks
Forget worrying about a giant tequila selection--the bar has Jose Cuervo and it works just fine. Pick anything from the massive list of fruit drinks (everything from "original lime" to peach colada to "mangorita") and then ask for either tequila or rum and you've got a margarita or daquiri for $4.20.

The Food
The menu's huge, so take your time. A safe choice is the chili verde burrito/cheese enchilada dinner ($8.95), but the chili verde's on the overly mild side. The taco grande ($7.50) is massive and filled with tasty shredded beef.

Many come here just for the chimichangas ($8.50). They're good if you like the fried side of life. Both of the giant combinations ($12.75 and $9.95) also feature the chimichanga.
