Exciting Olympic venue offers year-round tours and training. – Overview
The excitement of the bobsled, luge, skeleton and ski-jumping competitions took place here during the 2002 Olympics. Note to the adventurous: Give these adrenalized sports a try with lessons, tours and equipment rental. The first half of the Nordic combined event, ski jumping, took place here, then moved to Soldier Hollow where athletes competed in a cross-country ski race.

The Experience
Facilities at the 389-acre park include a day lodge with a deli, sports shop, meeting rooms and offices. There are also Nordic ski jumps with 90- and 120-meter hills, a bobsled-skeleton-luge track and a 750,000-gallon freestyle training pool for summer aerial training. The bobsled-luge track is 1,335 meters long, has five start areas and is one of only 14 competition-certified refrigeration tracks in the world. Self-guided tours are included with admission; for an extra $2, a guided tour includes shuttle service throughout the park.

One-of-a-kind experience – We went to the Utah Olympic Park in July of 2005 specifically for the 30-minute all-star aerial ski jump team performance. It was a FANTASTIC experience. The athletes skied down the ski jumps, did acrobatics in the air, and then landed in a pool. Athletes also give autographs. You do have to sit out in the sun to watch the show. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs, an umbrella and sunscreen. There are certain times when you can actually go down the bobsled run. There are tours of the entire Olympic Park, two different museums related to the 2002 Winter Olympics and concessions. Prices for adults are higher than the City Search site shows.

The Olympic spirit still resides here! – Even though the crowds and athletes have left. The spirit and excitement of the games still prevades. It was still an awesome experience to visit the Olympic Park.

Olympics Live On – What a great place to visit. While there is still some construction going on the tour of the Olympic venues is awesome. Really neat to see behind the scenes like visiting the start house of the K120 jump.
