Wonderful Facility! – My daughter just started here at FBCCC in November, and I have seen nothing but professional and loving examples from the staff and the director.
I see the staff on the floor with my child and the others in her class and her caregivers will let me know every detail of her day. The staff is well trained and will list their qualifications in the classrooms so that I can see it. It is reassuring to me knowing that my daughters caregivers are continuing their education in child care.
I have worked in in many different child care centers through a program that travels to different facilities and I have seen many child care centers throughout the valley. The facility might not be as new and have all the 'bells and whistles' as other centers, but the center definitely makes up for it in their quality of care.
Loving Daycare & Genuine Staff – Referred by an attorney, my daughter has been attending FBCCC for more than 1 year and is now in her final level.
From the beginning, I have only seen a quality, professional atmosphere, exuded by both staff and administration. As the setting is secure and in the lower level of First Baptist Church, a sense of calm prevails regardless of the chaos as newborns to age 4, and beyond, are in attendance.
My daughter looks forward to her arrival each day, which speaks volumes about her experience, and that of fellow students and staff.
A warm atmosphere and sense of loving care are obvious.
Wonderful facility and staff -- love it! – My daughter attended FBCCC for five years, beginning when she was about five months old, until entering kindergarten this fall. We love just about everything about FBCCC: loving caregivers/teachers, a very safe facility, appropriate activities and curricula as they get older, healthy meals and snacks provided throughout the day, a variety of play areas (courtyard for scooting, etc.;
Completely Unprofessional – My child was in this daycare for almost 2 years, only because it was close to my work and I could visit throughout the day to check on him. While the basic care was adequate, the director could not have been much more unprofessional. I can't tell you how many times I overheard her bad mouthing other parents behind their backs or just acting unprofessional in general. The center also raised their rates by an exhorbitant amount ($60 per month) with little notice, when their rates were already higher than most in the area. Even so, we applied for the wait list for our unborn baby to begin in the fall, so that I could visit her throughout the day when she was small - and the director said that it would be absolutely no problem to get her in.
We then moved our son to a daycare near our house that was far cheaper (more than $200 per month less), and, in my opinion, far superior. We have NEVER had a problem with them and they have bent over backwards to accomodate anything we have asked. We told FBCCC that we still planned to have our baby attend there in the fall. A month before he birth, I contacted FBCCC to verify her spot and got NO RESPONSE WHATSOEVER from the director. After her birth, I made arragements for my daughter to attend the daycare my son was attending, and contacted FBCCC to let them know we had made other arrangements since they could not be bothered to respond to my messages. The director IMMEDIATELY wrote back saying that she was sorry that they didn't have a spot for my daughter (news to me!). It's a good thing I had made other arrangements (arrangements I am actually much happier with now), since FBCCC didn't even have the decency to contact me in advance, knowing I was on their "wait list," knowing the start date I required, and having told me previously that it was pretty much guaranteed, to let me know that they had given my spot away.
It's sad, because there were a couple of teachers there that I did really like, and I would have actually told them goodbye (rather than "see you in the fall") had I known we wouldn't be returning with my daughter. Now I wouldn't step foot in the place, even to do that. I'm ultimately better off, and my kids are in a MUCH better daycare, so I guess Carol Wood (the extremely unprofessional director) did me a favor.
TERRIBLE – My child was in that daycare fo two and half years. The care was okay and I thought it was worthwhile to keep my son's routine consistent until he started kindergarten. Teacher turnover is a bit of a problem, but the worst factor is the director. I found her to be dishonest and uneducated in childhood development. She made rude and hurtful comments to parents that were unprofessional, to say the least. Do yourself a favor and keep on searching...
We really miss this place – We moved away from SLC last Summer and had no idea how good this daycare was. There is nothing close to it in our new town. We have two children and between them they spent time in every class in the 3mos to 3yr range. The teachers were all great. There is a large indoor gym and auditorium so there is plenty of room for kids to run. It's been eight months and son still talks about missing his Salt Lake daycare. I feel so bad we had to move him.
Great Daycare! Awesome – This daycare center is great. I feel so good about leaving my little boy with his teachers. We have been there for almost a year, and there are windows in the classrooms, and a great outside area. My little boy loves his teachers, and when we get there in the morning, he races down the hall to the classroom. Very clean, very safe.

Good Daycare, but pricey – My children were in this daycare for almost 3 yrs. I thought the staff were very loving. I had an issue with one of the teachers, but she was eventually fired and all was well after that. As far as the other posters complaining about the director, I didn't have to deal with her very often, but I never found her gossipy or unprofessional. And as far as outside space, are you kidding? Of all the daycares I looked at, this one had the most! They have a courtyard for bikes and running and playing AND a sandy area with a jungle gym. When the weather is bad, they have a full size gym! Not sure where you were looking when you said there was not enough space for a toddler. The classrooms are individual (a lot of other daycare only had cubicles), and they provide very good meals. The only reason we left is that I moved out of state. I am back now and will probably use them again if they have room. I do agree that they are pricey; however, when I moved to another state, their daycares were way higher so I have a better appreciation for it.
Terrible!!! – My child was enrolled here for several months....could not stand to leave him anymore. I was on many waiting lists for other centers and used this as an interim.....as many parents I found out do. The Director was incredibly unprofessional and seemingly uneducated about early childhood education. Teachers were kind though.
Building is very dark and musty because it's in an old church.
Overall, I don't know what my child was learning while there??? NOT RECOMMENDED--SKIP THIS DURING YOUR SEARCH FOR QUALITY CHILDCARE!!!!!
