An electronics store with competitive prices and friendly service. – In Short
Circuit City offers a good but not overwhelming selection. Showrooms are medium in size, just enough to display the brand names customers know and respect, such as Hewlett-Packard and Sony. The store carries car and home audio equipment, television accessories (even satellite TV and broadband), cameras, computers and computer accessories, and music and movies. The staff is knowledgeable, but not annoyingly passionate about printing cartridges. When a product does not function correctly, customers can take it to the on-site service center.
FIRE DOG WILL BURN YOU! – So three months ago I brought my computer in to FIRE DOG because it was having problems. My computer is not even a year old yet, i bought in last august. I was hesitant about getting an HP but the sales men were very persuasive that i wouldnt have any problems. HA!
So i take my computer in because it keeps powering off, or going into hybernation. Do they listen to me? NO. They say that it is something else. I had to tell them multiple times that i needed them to fix the powering problem as well as the problem they found. Did they fix it? No. Not only that, but they charged me $100 to protect my files despite the fact that i bought the already expensive warrenty. No where did they mention this part when i purchased it from them. SO basically, everytime you want to fix something with them, pay up.
It has been three months and they are treating me like i am putting them out. They wont return my phone calls. They dont even keep consistant hours at the fire dog station. Its so random. When I call, i get put on hold for 40 minutes until i am told that the person i need to speak with "just" went on break or "just" left.
Finally, I started going in hoping they are there ( again thier hours are completely random and not consistent with store hours) and asking for reports and they still give me poor service.
I am a student at the U. I dont have a lot of money but I spent $1400 on my computer and bought the warrenty because i wanted to be protected. A lot of good it's done me. They told me that it would take 2-3 weeks to fix my computer and that they would make sure i had it back for finals. That didn't happen and I had to rewrite a bunch of papers and beg my classmates for notes. It was horrible and now that i am in summer classes it is like a nightmare that i cant wake up from.
The costomer service here is the worst I have ever come across and I will never trust this Curcuit CIty with my business again. Now im going to go call them, again...wish me luck.
ok for a corporate electronics store – I purchaced a sony tv from this location. two months into the purchase, it stopped working. Circuit City would not take it back. I delt with Sony for three hours to no avail. I wnt back to circuit city and one of the manages called sony for me. They even shipped the tv to sony for me. This store went abouve and beyond what any major name store has. I do think, howver that it would have been eaiser for everyone if the store had just switched out a new tv for me.
