I went to this dealership for repairs on my BMW based upon reviews from Google but I wish I had receive service that warranted 5 stars. I had an outside drivers door handle that was not working and I had made an appointment for a diagnosis whether it could be repaired or had to be replaced. I was told that it would take approximately 1 hour to diagnose at $95 per hour.
First, I had an appointment at 10am for my repair and I informed the service writer that I had to wait for the car since I lived about 75 miles away. I arrived about 9:45 but my car was not pulled into the service bay until approximately 11am. At that point I was already becoming slightly irritated but it wasnt until the service writer came out and said that it would be $115 per hour instead of the $95 that I was quoted that I started to become upset (to myself). Of course I protested and he left for a few minutes and then came back and said they could do it for $95/hour.
Finally, two hours later they came out and told me that it was broken and couldnt be repaired. That's what I thought the diagnosis would be so I wasnt surprised, but when they showed me the cost to replace the door handle is when I was completely floored. They wanted $400 in labor (4 hours) and about $230 for the parts! I knew this was too high so I opted to not repair the handle at that time and I left 4 HOURS AFTER I ARRIVED FOR A 1 HOUR DIAGNOSIS!
I went home and ordered an OEM BMW handle for half the price of the dealer and found a local repair shop that quoted me $100 to do the repair. I ended up taking it to that dealer and they repaired it for the $100 that I was quoted. 1/4 THE COST OF THE DEALER! I understand that the dealer will be a bit more expensive than other repair shops and needs to make a profit but at 4x the price of other repair shops? That is just the dealer trying to be greedy and take advantage of the customer.
I will never return to this dealership again and I caution others to avoid the service department at all costs. Their sales and parts departments may be fine since I didnt have any dealings with them but the serivice department was a complete joke and makes the entire dealership look bad.
EDIT: Now that I read other's reviews a bit closer I notice that most of the negative reviews on Google refer to the service department. That just backs up my review and obviously their service department needs some changes in order to bring it up to BMW standards.
Really? This is BMW not Kia! I would expect A+ service instead of FAIL. It took 5 minutes to get any one to acknowledge me when I drove into service garage and I was the only customer there. Finally, someone showed up, he knew nothing and sent me to service rep, Devin. This guy knew nothing and did nothing. All I needed was a quality check and another key. After 2 days of frustration dealing with Devin, we called the dealership we bought the car from and they dealt with this kid. I will never bring my car back. What a waste of time and energy!
I love BMW of Murray, I have owned an '07 335i and now have a 2010 335i. Both cars have been fast and a lot of fun.
Amazing Service and Sales – I have to express my BMW experience was amazing for the secound time in two years and my third BMW, my salesman Evan Grey has integrity and was very helpful in finding the BMW i was searching for and making me happy, he has been a pleasure to work with and i would recomend him to anyone who is serious about buying a BMW at BMW of Murray

Worst Service Department Ever – If you like 5 star reviews that say the service department is great because they got a free car wash this isn't it. I swore I would never go back to BMW of Murray service years ago. I gave them a second chance and they dropped the ball.
First off, as with the other post, good luck getting though to the service department. When you leave a message, either online or by phone, don't expect to get called back in a reasonable time frame. Then if you do get called back don't expect an appointment anytime that week. Once you have the car in, expect to make another appointment in a week for a follow up when they get the part in or when they have time to work on it. Last, don't expect that they fixed the problem. (I've had two BMWs die no less than a week out of their service department)
For all of my time BMW of Murray is wasting, I figure I'd write them a review while they are wasting it. I'm currently waiting for the service department to call me back. Next time I'll just take it to BMW of Pleasant grove. At least the service department actually answers the phone.
Fantastic Service – Service department was fantastic. Stop in to top my wiper fluid and they check my tire pressure check, to see if my car needed any service and offered me FREE car wash.
I love my BMW and won't drive any car but a BMW unless I loose my job ha ha.. No I've worked with other BMW dealership in CA, and they were pretty good until I moved to Utah. What a great service staff.
I hope my next vehicle will be the all new X3
Great Customer Service and Service Department – When I bought my car at BMW of Murray, the salesman that took care of me was extremely knowledgeable, and treated me with a lot of respect. I will go back to him in a heartbeat! And since buying my car, whenever I go to to the Service Department to have my car serviced they are always quick and thorough with my car. I've never had to wait very long for my car to be taken care of.
And recently, I had my window's tinted on my car. The tint looks AMAZING, and the man in charge of tinting was extremely helpful and nice. I've referred multiple friends to get their cars tinted through BMW of Murray.
Service Dept UNRESPONSIVE and EXPENSIVE – My car's alarm on a 1994 540i would not quit. After digging everywhere for information, I determined i had no choice then to have the dealer remove or disable the alarm, in order for my car to operate again....
Appt Thurs 7.30am, towed the car in, i was told 220 to look at it., (fine I'm at the dealership, its expected) but come all through friday I receive no update. WHERE IS MY CAR and WHATS THE STATUS..
I called repeatedly and left messages every 3 hours or so. Never got through to any person, just machines.
If you're going to charge premium prices, *****, deliver a premium service!
