STAY CLEAR of Infinit's service department!

I was quoted a price for repairs on the phone by Chaz Benson, the service manager, as a "safe estimate" for parts and labor. This was after telling him I lived an hour away and needed to know a fairly safe estimate before making the commute. Chaz sounded hasty and condescending over the phone, however, I gave him the benefit of the doubt that he might have been having a bad day.

I then drove an hour to drop the car off for repair. Upon arrival, I was greeted nicely by a service agent who quoted me twice the amount Chaz, the service manager, did over the phone.

I kindly asked the service agent to speak with Chaz about the discrepancy. Instead of walking in the room to say hello and discuss my query, Chaz, the service manager, storms in, voice elevated, and addressed stupid me by reminding me that it was an “estimate.”

I could have accepted a two-fold price increase had a mechanic discovered an unforeseen problem, however, at this point no one had even looked at my car. If a “service MANAGER” can so easily treat a customer this way, consider how enthusiastic their mechanics are about doing great work. Poor management = poor employee performance.

I walked out and will never return.

E X P E N S I V E & B A D – Called to have two manufacturing defects corrected which had Service Bulletins posted through Infinity national regarding them. I was told they needed to verify the actual problem, but they would be covered if it was the problem in the service bulletin.

Since my car needed transmission service and inspection so I brought it in for that too. From the time I got out of my car I was told it needed the 60K service even though it was well under 60K and even though the items they listed in the service had already been done.

Price tag for that would have been well over $800

Next I was told the inspection would cost $70!!! Yes, the same inspection you can get for $35 anywhere else.

Next I was told the items in the service bulletins would not be covered and in fact would cost over $500 each!!!

This was most incredible because one of the problems was a simple switch which I actually ended up replacing myself in about 30 min. with no directions and using a generic switch for about $6.00. The other issue I solved myself by using felt pads to eliminate loud clicking from a solenoid for a cost of $3.00.

The real fun started after they actually looked at the car. They stated it was leaking from pretty much everywhere even though there was no sign of it on our fresh poured driveway and pad and no one had noticed it at the Orem Nissan dealer 3 months ago when in for an oil change and general inspection. These "necessary fixes" would cost another $1800!!

Basically the grand total for everything "necessary" added up to just about $3000.... on a car that has been well maintained and had only 56K on it!

After I told them to forget everything but the transmission service and that those quotes were ridiculous, the service advisor "Bill" ignored my calls and emails and refused to have any contact with me when I came to pick up the vehicle.

I would sooner learn to fix it myself or sell my car than ever go back there again. They are THE WORST.

best care for my new Coupe – I recently bought a new Infiniti G37 Coupe and while the sales experience was great (except for laying out a considerable sum of cash) the first service I received was terrific! I brought the car in for it's first oil change (they call it an Executive Service) and it was great! It only took 45 minutes or so and when they handed me my keys along with a rose my car was spotless. We have 2 little dogs and you would never have guessed they spent any time in the car. Inside and out spotless. Thank you Ben and Chaz in service for the great job. BTW because it was the first service it was free.

Great Sales and service – I looked at a vehicle online and made a call, from the first conversation to the time I took delivery three days later, everything went very well. since then I have been back to service and I have been treated well as everything is explained in detail and they truly seem to care. Thanks Tim Dahle

Bad Service Department – Only take your Infiniti to Tim Dahle if you have a bucket of gold and don't mind paying thousands of dollars more then you should and have repairs performed that your car does not need. This summer I took my Infiniti G35 into Tim Dahle for a mechanical Problem. I was 50 miles away from my factory warranty expiring the repairs they did should have been covered under the warranty but Tim Dahle told me that the warranty would not cover the repairs and they tried to charge me almost $3000 dollars for repairs that my car didn't even need. Only after calling Infinity of America and getting the head service people on the line with Tim Dahle at that time I was told that Infinity would cover the repairs on my warranty and I could leave at no cost. Before I went to Tim Dahle I Spoke to Infinity of America warranty repair people and they told me that everything would be covered including my tow that Tim Dahle tried to charge me. IF I hadn't spoken to Infinity Warranty Before going to Tim Dahle I would have been ripped off by Tim Dahle and I would have paid almost $3000 dollars in repairs I should have never been charged for. Tim Dahle service department shame on you. I would recommend to all Infinity owners to only go to Tim Dahle if it is warranty repair only. Otherwise their are plenty of good independent honest mechanics that can repair Infinities.
