Real Chinese in Utah---Amazing – This is as real as it get's folks! With a 100% chinese staf on hand, how could you expect anything but authentic? This is the place for people who like "real" chinese food. Come on Saturday or Sunday during lunch and have the entire dim sum menu rolled right up to your table ---just like in any Dim Sum place in Hong Kong. If asthetics is really that important to you---plan ahead and make arrangements to use the dining room upstairs with the big screen TV. -Try the Egg Custard- my fav-
A little taste of Chinatown right here in SLC. – The Scene
Savory aromas from the kitchen fill the air as you enter the modest, brightly lit dining room. Tables are set with paper place mats, walls are adorned with large mirrors, and vinyl booths line the perimeter. Not the most inviting-looking place--it has the feel of a greasy-spoon--but looks are deceiving. Service is friendly and swift.
You can make a light meal out of the delicious dim sum morsels served daily. Pillowy pork buns, glistening chicken feet, shrimp dumplings and succulent steamed spareribs with a light black bean sauce are favorites. In addition to dim sum, the menu is filled with more substantial selections. Tender, flavorful twice-cooked pork comes with a mix of fresh vegetables, and General Tso's chicken is hearty and spicy in a rich red sauce. The assorted steamed vegetables are fresh and cooked crisp--a fine vegetarian choice.

Lets have chinese. – Well you may want to be warned, this is one of the more authentic Chinese resteraunts in Salt Lake City or anywhere outside of Newyork or California for that matter. If you are adventerous or would like to try the real thing come here. Most Americans are turned off by the exotic choices offered here. Those who give it a chance, however, are very satisfied. The food is delicous. Chicken feet taste much better than they sound. And if you go for the stuff you are used to finding in the US, you will find it is prepared with great skill. Excellent place. A little crowded and not the nicest facility but a great place to eat none the less.
Love that dim sum – Chinese food is flavorful with its many different dishes, but dim sum (chinese dumplings) allows you many other choices without over stuffing yourself.
Try something different each time and enjoy.
Wow! – What a great restaurant! I've heard about this Ho Ho Gourmet for a long time but I don't get into town very often. I think I'll make the trip every Saturday for a while! My first impression was that this place is full of bustle and movement. It was interesting watching the food go by and the dim sum being offered on trays. Another thing I noticed is that 90% of the people here are Asians.
I ordered the Hong Kong Beef which is brazed beef strips in a red ginger sauce. I've had the same thing at Sampan and Ho Ho has the better of the two. The sauce was great and the cuts of meat were very tasty and tender. The dim sum I tried, just the pork buns this time, was first rate. I'll definately be back as often as I can manage it.
