best walnut chicken Ever!!!! – Ive eaten here a ton of times & the walnut chicken is to die for.
Try singapore noodle-amazing!! – Go for their specials-you won't be dissappointed
Longtime Patron - Disappointed – We ordered Wontons. Look up a picture in Google images, they look nothing like the wontons that you get from Mountain City. The wontons we got looked like Chinese chips, I was looking for the salsa in the bag and remembered I went to a chinese retaurant. The most disappointing part is that my family and I have gone to Mountain city for years and after calling the owner, she didn't take my disappointment seriously and acted as though I should make my request differently in the future.
I have always loved going to Mountain City and enjoying the incredible food. I will continue to go to Mountain City, not as often because of the way my issue was handled.
To the Owner... If you have a customer that is given there honest feedback about your food, please take it seriously and work with that customer to satisfy there request. It would have taken $1.00 to do something about the problem. Now you have something on CitySearch that will be looked at by many people for a long time. They may base there decision on whether to come eat at your establishment on this review. Careful how you treat your patrons.
best chicken fried rice – We have been going to Mountain City for a few years now, and I'm never disappointed. Owner waits tables and will pull you into a conversation even if you don't want to. You can tell these people work hard, and the place shows it. Recommend the Chicken Fried Rice and Fortune Chicken.
An unpretentious eatery with fare that's better than most of the Chinese restaurants in downtown SLC. – The Scene
It's a tiny place, tucked away in a shopping center. The first thing you need to know about the Mountain City Restaurant is that if you don't see what you like on the menu, ask for it, especially the New Zealand green-lipped mussels, smothered in a pungent ginger sauce.
Highlights printed on the menu include fragrant pot stickers made with chicken and ginger; hot-and-sour soup; fortune chicken (small pieces of chicken coated with a fritter-type batter, and red and green peppers covered with the chef's own secret hot, tangy sweet-and-sour sauce, then served over crisp rice noodles); and the seafood delight, made of fresh shrimp, stir-fried with char shu (barbecued pork) and crab. No dish costs more than $8. Diners who like to have their decisions made for them will enjoy ordering one of the nine combination dinners, which contain American-Chinese favorites like cashew chicken, egg rolls, and fried shrimp.
