good burger, terrible service – I came to Maggie McGee's for Geeks Who Drink, which is awesome. I had a cheeseburger and fries, which were great as far as bar food goes. My main issue was with the service, both our waitress and the manager.

First, our waitress managed to get everything wrong - wrong drink orders, forgetting utensils, forgetting condiments. It wasn't just that she was slow, it's that she didn't even really bother writing down orders.

That would have been ok, but when my friend asked her to not close his tab because we might be winning pub trivia (and getting a gift certificate), she closed it anyway. Then when he asked her to reopen it after we won, she first said it would be impossible, then she said she didn't know how, then she said if she did, we'd only be able to use the $50 on his $17 tab, and everyone else at our table would be out of luck. When he reminded her that he asked her not to close his tab in the first place and we all wanted to be together, she finally went back to do it.

Then the manager asked the Geeks Who Drink quiz master to make an announcement that asking to get your bar tab reopened is "bad manners." Then we saw the manager and waitress arguing and pointing at us, so another friend at our group tried to explain what had happened and that it was just a misunderstanding. As she was trying to smooth things over, he started snapping at her listen to him and then lecturing our whole table.

They ended up reopening the tab and letting us use the gift certificate for our whole table, but not before the manager lectured all of us about how hard we were making things for him and the waitress and how they are sometimes there for hours (hours??) straightening out bar tabs that people have reopened. He never once acknowledged that the waitress was never asked to close the tab in the first place, but that she went ahead and did it -- and I quote -- "in case we skipped out on our tab." And what, left the credit card information behind?

Aside from pub trivia, it was an awful experience. I'll probably go back because Geeks Who Drink is great, but I wouldn't go back for any other reason.

Great Place good time – I went into this bar about 4 years ago when i moved out to Utah. I took my girfriend with me many times and I think just about every time we went there was a fight, drama or we were charged someone elses bill on our credit card. They even gave my girlfriends card to another customer who left and we had to track her down to get the card back.

I just went in last month and the place was noticbly different. They have improved the atmosphere, added a pool room, and a huge patio . Weve had a good experience everytime weve been back. Its a great place to grab a beer and catch a game.

DONT DO IT! – The owners are probably paying people to write these reviews- I'm certain! I read them when making a choice to try a new club since Im fairly new to SLC. The girls and I were excited to go to a karaoke club and chose this one. BIG MISTAKE! If you like partying with senior citizens and paying for drinks that cost too much then I highly recommend this dive. It didnt take us long before we googled another karaoke club with customers under the age of 50. That place was also a dive but at least younger people were there, drinks werent overpriced and the atmosphere was fun. The atmosphere at Maggies is not worth what you pay for the drinks. If they even had good food it might be worth it but they serve bar food. BAD bar food at that. Go if you must but you've been forewarned.

Maggie's is Back – I haven’t been to Maggie’s in a few years…it was getting pretty bad. I found out it was under new ownership and decided to give it a chance. The scuttlebutt is that the new owners actually give a damn…so we stopped by to grab dinner, drinks and catch the Jazz game. All in all, we had a great time. There are T.V.'s everywhere and two projection screens that you can see from anywhere in the room. That gives Maggie's an edge up on the other sports bars in the area in my humble opinion. The food is typical bar food, but pretty good bar food. The nachos are huge and after I saw them, I had regrets not ordering them. The beer prices are pretty awesome and the beer selection is much better now. (Not everyone drinks Bud!!!). Our waitress was good and kept the beer and beverages coming.

We didn’t go in to shoot pool but the pool room is very cool and we will definitely give it a try. All in all, I was impressed with Maggie's and will be back.

Great time ..fun place – I couldnt disagree more with the last review, ya it was great when Brush owned it ..if you like dark dank smelly tar and dust covered places along with the most expensive drinks in town...I love what the new owners have done..it looks like a respectable place now..not a dive. They have reasonable drink prices and I thought the food was fine...reg bar food.. I had my bday there and it was sooo much fun...They gave me and my friends party favors and catered to us all night...Rochelle u rock!! I love Will the assistant he knows a lot about drinks..We sang and a great time was had by all...Keep it up Maggies!!!

Worst club in town! – Dont waste your time or money. It was cool when Brush owned it but now it feels like a bright sterile dentist office- BORING. The food sucks and the service is slow. Rude bartenders and the waitress talk more than they serve.

Horrid – Used to be a good place, but it's evolved to one of the worst bars in town. First of all, they'll hit up guys for a cover, just to walk in and order a drink. It costs more to go there 2 nights than it did back in private club days. It's not like you are paying for a band, it's simply another way for them to take your cash. Service is poor and the attitude worse. The hostess at the door is rude and arrogant. There are so many more places. I can't see how Maggs is going to be around long. Seems like folks are abandoning this place. Good riddance!

The a$$hole of town! – Watered down drinks! Unsanitary! I wasted a Friday night here. The bartender was rude and ignored our group all night. The pool tables are at least 30 years old. The karaoke setup is a joke, the mic can't handle anyone that has a real voice. There is a smoking room in the back that makes the whole bar smell like cigarettes! Trust me, there are a hundred other bars that are better than this hole in the wall, Don't waste your time!

WORST BAR EVER!! – I recently went to Maggies and had a horrible time. This place is BS!! I saw the bartenders on their cell phones all night while they were texting i was waiting on a drink. No one could get a damn drink! Cocktails who werent even my server had to serve me cuz my server was no where to be found... this place doesnt have good specials at all... I can go to any other bar on a Monday... MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL and have specials of ALL kinds. Its rediculous for me to come to a place where i have rude bartenders and half the servers dont have a clue what the hell they are doing... Maggies thinks they are a hole in the wall sports bar... but really this is a one big SHIT hole of a bar! I would never recommend this bar to ANYONE! i seriously can not believe this place is in business... I had a moment to talk to a server who was very nice and asked her what the deal was with this place and these people that work here. She had a moment to tell me all the bull shit that the owner has them doing.... For THREE DOLLLARS AN HOUR!! Hell no, there is no way anyone should feel the way that the owner makes these girls feel... I over heard some servers talking about girls that worked there that got fired for the most bull shit reasons i have ever heard of!! I, MYSELF run my very own bar and would hire some of the girls that work there any day cuz some of these chicks are good but... some of the bartenders need to check themselves, especially the chick with that tattoos... ESPECIALLY!! GIRL damn your not that good and on your cell phone all night... I could hire people like Hellen Keller any day that could provide better customer service then YOU!!! To the owner of the bar that may or may not of been brought to his/her attention. On Monday night football, the manager Dustin whom was incharge of giving away prizes was gone for a few TD give-a-ways and other football memorabila that I would be more than happy to take my business else where and recieve actual consideration of being at a bar. Thanks for letting me waste my time at your bar and realizing where to spend my time at from here on out. I hope more people will read this and understand what a unprofessional bar this is and not contribute to your bar any longer.
