I dont know what was worse, the fingernail in my food or... – We ordered take out from Kobe this weekend. In the middle of my noodles, I had something hard. So I took it out of my mouth. It was the top end of a fingernail (imagine ripping off a fingernail top with your teeth and you'll imagine the size). I put it in a plastic bag and confirmed with the group I was with that it was in fact a fingernail, there was no doubt. I called and told them. I like one of the owners and wanted her to know. She wasn't in and the waiter who took my call felt terrible for it happening. "Spencer" called me back a couple hours later and he said that he heard something was wrong with my food. I told him and he replied (smugly and with a bit of a laugh) that he checked all of his chefs fingernails and they werent missing any. I explained to him that it wasn't a whole fingernail and it was simply a part of one. He repeated that they all had their nails. He told me he'd comp my next noodle order. I told him he apparently is crazy to assume I would return after that. I them told him that as a business tip, you don't tell your customers they are wrong when they have the proof right in front of them and they have been customers for years. That a customer who had to remove a fingernail from their food shouldn't be told they were wrong. I was really sick about having a fingernail in my food but the complete rude way Spencer handled the situation bothered me even more than the disgusting fingernail in my food. I really do like many of the servers and chefs there and they do have good noodles and fried rice, but the way this was handled was completely unacceptable and I will NEVER return.
Fabulous Experience – This is my favorite restaurant in Ogden. It is a small Japanese grill, where they cook on the table right before your eyes. The flavors really pop, and you will eat a lot. They have a Sushi bar and some great items. For instance, there is steak, shrimp, and scallops. The tables sit about 8-12 so its a good atmoshphere. The cooks will preform tricks and even light the entire stove on fire. Be aware though, it is quite pricy. Enjoy the scenery and stop by the gist shop on your way out.
Teppan yaki togetherness – This is a neat little place. Looks like a Japanese country inn with pretty landscaping.
I was dining alone which is usually not a great idea for Teppan Yaki since the show
is part of the experience. But the host quickly sized me up and paired me with
a lively group of local diners. I did not feel like an outsider and quite enjoyed the meal.
Teppan Yaki is not my favorite but I was in the mood, once inside I had some misgivings
because of the social aspect - However thanks to the competent host, everything worked out great.
Nice place – Good food, good service, great view; what else do you want? I like this place and recommend it.
Good for a nice night out – I enjoy the place. They are a bit pricey but the food is good. You are sit at a grill that sits 8 and they do the whole flipping knives thing. Pretty good food and good entertainment...worth the trip.
Geeeeez! – It is so frustrating when a restaurant is rated high when it is not. The sushi was really not sushi. It was AWFUL. To me, sushi chefs didn't know what they were doing. I love sushi, I have tried many places for sushi. Let me tell you, it's NOT worth your time or money! We won't be going back.
