Worth a trip up from Novato for sure. My hubby and I love coming here and going to the movies down the street. Their pizza is so good!! It has spoiled us for anything in Novato, hence the drive. They also have great salads, nice homestyle Mom and Pop place, not enough of them these days. Support this place they have yummy pizza.
Horrible Service Horrible Waitress – My family and I went to this retaurant with our children after a day of shopping. This was the worst experience I have ever had. The waitress did not provide any customer service to us while we were there and never came back to see if we needed anything. When it came time to pay the bill we were abrupty notified that they do no accept debit/credit. When we asked for a box for the left over pizza the waitress said do you really need a box for three slices of pizza and then she rolled her eyes. Wait it gets better...when we left the restaurant she approached us and asked why we didn't leave a tip and after explaining to her that she did not provide customer service and she was rude she proceeded to yell and scream at us in front of our children and then she said don't come back and get off the street you are making it look dirty. When I went to speak to the owner she was not helpful and let the waitress continue to yell at us. As I was walking out of the place she yelled next time cook at home.....unbelievable behavior. We found out later that the owner is her mother...We would never eat here again .........
Pizza Perfect! – There is no doubt in my mind that this is one of our town?s best restaurants. I have been a patron for over 15 years, and the quality never falters. The service is always excellent, the food is wonderful, and the prices are great! If you have not yet tried the Philly Cheesesteak, you are missing out. And the breadsticks are to die for. But come to think of it, EVERY thing they offer is wonderful.
A quick side note to tomj78- you complained about their "Cash Only" policy, what is the big deal? Get a grip buddy. OH MY! The big tough military man had to walk one block (not two). As far as you claiming the owner was screaming at you, I highly doubt it. Although, from reading your post and the comments you made (plump girl, witch of a cook, etc.), they would have every right to stick up for their policy. I happened to work there in my teens and these are good, hardworking people. And considering how long they have been a staple in the downtown, good luck with your smear campaign. Hope that works out for you!
Anywho- this is a great place! And if you stop by a couple times, they will soon know you by name. Defiantly one of the best in all of Petaluma. And you help to support the few remaining mom & pop shops!
Check it out, you won?t be sorry!
Former waitress, forever customer!
RUDE RUDE RUDE! – This is, hands down, the worst restaurant I've EVER been to. I'm new to the area (military) and decided to explore some pizza joints. This was the third place I went to. As I walked in, the door was propped open to allow the fresh air in, which seemed nice. So, I walked in knowing immediately what I wanted to order without looking at the menu. I placed my order of a small pizza and sat down and waited...and waited...and waited. 20 minutes went by and no food (by the way, there were only two other people in there). So I went to the counter and asked to have the pizza to-go and proceeded to pay. I whipped out by debit card to pay and the plump girl behind the counter said they only take cash. I jokingly said "are you serious? nobody carries cash anymore!" The girl behind the counter annoyingly said "I'm so sick of hearing that, this is a family-owned business and they can do what ever the want." She directed be to walk two blocks to the ATM (pay a surcharge) to get cash. After walking back to a cold pizza and a cold staff, the witch of a cook came out and started laying into me about their cash only policy. I left the store with two unpleasant people yelling and cussing telling me to go back where I came from! Unreal! I asked them if I could have the owners email address or number, but they both claimed to be the owners. As a result, I drive by that place everyday in disgust and tell everyone possible to steer clear!
Best Petaluma Italian for the local neighborhood – Mama Mia, this is my favorite Italian Restaurant. (Closed on Monday) Tasty homemade food!!
My wife and I began eating here over a year ago. I've dabbled in other italian eateries to be honest but I keep coming back to New Yorker.
The service is great, Family owned with mom in doing the cooking.
There is other italian restaurants in Petaluma so go ahead and compare. This is the best.
Rude service, cold , rubbery pizza with raw dough – We were very dissappointed, after waiting 30 minutes when no customers were there!
The pizza had virtually no meat on it or cheese.....and was on a rubbery, doughy crust.
It was dry .
We very politely complained, and were told we could not have another pizza made by an older miffed woman who made the pizza. The counter person was very nice, however!
We dislike the chains, but now understand how they can survive.
The customer is WRONG at this place of business. I wish they had made us another pizza, we probably would have come back.
But if your pizza ia not right, don't expect it to be made right here!
Back to Domino's (sigh).
Best pizza in town – Fantastic family-owned restaurant in downtown Petaluma, near the new movie theater. Casual, classic dishes, and great authentic New York style pizza.
The BEST Garlic Bread in the World!!! – Hi, I found this place maybe 10 years ago and it has GREAT FOOD! We enjoyed the pizza and pasta alot, but my real favorite is the GARLIC BREAD!!! Order some when you first get there and you'll probably love it so much that you'll get an order to go. We live in Sacramento, so it's hard to visit as often as we'd like, but it's a great place to go if you love "unpretentious" Italian/American food!!! It's near the water and there are some nice shops across the street too. Well worth a visit!!! : )
