Kudos to Mike in the Service Dept.
My wifes Honda Odyssey needed work that was entirely covered by Honda Care. We got the van back home and part of the issue was not fixed.
Mike had folks come to my wife's van downtown (30 minute drive each way!) to diagnose the issue and fix it in her office parking lot. Well done. May not be closer to Richmond than West Broad Honda but very, very impressed.
(It turns out the door electronics needed to be re-synchronized and didn't appear to be an oversight on their part during the original visit).
Service People – I called yesterday about not being able to open my trunk and Kevin didn't seem to remember that a Ridgline has a trunk in the bed. He kept on trying to ask me if the problem was with the tail gate or the tanoe top. I said no, so he finally went and talked to a mechanic. I flipped the switch in the glove box and it still would not open. I asked if there was a way to jimmy it open and he said he didn't even think thier mechanics will be able to open it. Hell of a thing to make and sell a vehicle if you don't know how to fix it when something goes wrong.
Poor Customer Service after Accident – I had my car in for and oil change and new tires. Unfortunately, it was hit by another car before I picked it up. The manager told me that another customer had hit my car, and that I'd have to take up the claim with this customer.
I informed him that I wasn't interested in confronting an unknown 3rd party, especially since I hadn't witnessed the accident, and wouldn't be able to make any assertion about what had happened.
I reminded him that by taking possession of my car, his dealership had created a bailment which holds it accountable for damage that occurs.
He insisted that there was nothing that he could do.
Even if the manager is technically correct that his dealership was able to avoid creating a bailment, it's a pretty horrible way to treat a customer. The right response should have been, "We're sorry that your car was damaged while it was in our care. We'll have a loaner for you while we get your car fixed." They could have then taken up a claim with the person that hit my car afterwards.
For what it's worth, I have spent about a hundred thousand dollars at this dealership over the past few years.
Tree killers in my back yard – Pearson Honda is building a new store at Spring Run Rd and Hull Street. It was fully loaded with trees and wildlife. They killed hundreds of trees while helping Japan get richer. I'm buying a American made car. Honda's are assembled here in the US.
Exceptional service – Bought Honda Accord from Pearson dealership in 2000 and since then have my Honda serviced there. Their service is definitely exceptional.I had Toyota, Nissan, Mazda cars but other dealerships never came close in the customer service. For the day long service(timing belt) they provide rental car and the price for the service is much better then West Broad Honda. I leave at West End my for the last 9 years prefer drive to Pearson for the service. Very satisfied customer.
