Wow – I am totally in shock by some of the negative comments on here! I have been dealing w/ this clinic for a long time, and never have I had issues w/ my animals boarding or sitting in their OWN SHIT as 1 gentlemen said. Any time I have ever had an issue of any sort ( which wasnt a major one) I have never had a problem with the office manager. She went beyond and above to help me with any problem , making sure that I left happy ! Sounds as though this gentlemen was having a for shit day himself! I understand being upset about waiting an hour, but to go and bash the entire staff on a public search is insane. WHEN PEOPLE DECIDE TO BUY ANIMALS.. DO THEY FORGET THAT THEY COST A SMALL ARM AND LEG... ALMOST LIKE A CHILD WOULD. Trust me , every clinic is costly now days, just like any business the price has to go up to make a living. I could not have ask for better people to have taken care of my CRAZY dog ! WAY TO GO TO THE STAFF AT PET FIRST ANIMAL CLINIC.. I think you ROCK! INCLUDING THE OFFICE MANAGEMENT AND EVERYONE! WHAT A GREAT TEAM YOU ALL SEEM TO BE!
Looking Elsewhere - expensive and dishonest – Been taking my two dogs there for the last 18 months. even though they were on the expensive side, they were close by and I do like the (current) doctor there, Dr. Thompson. But I've had it with their boarding, and after a conversation with their "customer relations" manager, who was anything but helpful or courteous, I've decided that I have better places to drop $5K (which is about what I've spent there in the last 18 months between vaccines, spaying, boarding, exams, etc). The last two times I've boarded them, I've had issues.
The previous time, I showed up to pick my dogs up, and proceeded to wait over an hour for them as they needed baths because they were apparently covered in their feces. The fact that I showed up about an hour earlier then they anticipated up seemed to throw them for a loop, and I wonder if they weren't a mess for the entire weekend. These dogs, by the way, do not make it a practice to roll around in their own shit, so they either weren't let out regularly and had been forced to sleep in their cages covered in feces for a while, or a once in a lifetime occurrence occurred where both dogs crapped in their cages right before I picked them up, they decided to roll around in it, and it was just unfortunate timing for me coming to pick them up...you make the call.
This last time (and I just got home and I'm still fuming), I had them there for 4 days. I supply their food every time I drop them off, and for 4 feedings, at 3 cups/day, I gave them two bags each with 12 measured cups each. I asked them to feed them at around 11am every day. Well, when I pick them up, and double confirmed they were fed today...I'm given back a bag of food that I supplied them. Easily a days worth (when I got home, I measured out 8 cups). I was basically called a liar when I questioned how there could be left over food. The "customer relations" manager, a snide, heavy set woman, whose name alludes me right now (Kelly maybe? Started with a K), produced some scribble showing they were fed everyday at 8am. Well, maybe they were (mind you, I requested they be fed around 11am), but it wasn't with the food I supplied them. Furthermore, when I got my dogs home, you'd think they had been marooned on a desert island. They drank two bowls of water without looking up.
When I spoke with the CM manager, she had the gall (after just paying $500 for this "service"), to point out the previous time I left them there I had an issue as well...I said, "Yea, I'm not partial to my dogs sleeping in shit". Anyway, she was less than helpful, and downright rude and condescending, and frankly I wasn't going to waste my time talking to her and her attitude, when there really was no remedy. The dogs were still alive, they're home now, and I just won't bring them back there. It's unfortunate, because I did really like Dr. Thompson and her attention to the dogs. But the manager there made it abundantly clear that she was unconcerned with my issue, didn't value my dogs well being, nor the thousands I've spent there already and likely thousands more over the future.
Well, there's plenty of options out there, and if you're considering a vet/boarding area for your animals, I would highly encourage you looking elsewhere. It seems I'm not the only one from this small sample or reviews here, and wish I'd seen something like this before I brought them there the first time.
