We have been a customer for ten+ years, paying extra for "backdoor" service as our HOA does not allow cans at the street. Suddenly our trash is no longer being picked up, so I called, and after being put on hold for over a half hour we are told our cans were not at the curb. I explained they never have been they are in the same place since day one. After going around and around, they said they would send over a "courtesy pickup". I said I didnt want a courtesy, I want my trash picked up as I am paying for. Three days later they pickup. Next collection day, same thing. They say cans arent out. Again repeat story, on hold three times and will send courtesy pickup. They never picked up. I ask to have a supervisor call, no one calls. I have paid a quarter in advance and no pick up, no one cares. Their response was....we no longer offer backdoor service. We cannot put our cans out and they have my money. This company's customer service is absolutely pathetic, non-existant. We have choices in Richmond, they are not the only company collecting trash. I am prepared to take them to small claims court if necessary to get a refund for service unrendered. And, I will call another company today to actually arrange "service", something you will not get from Allied. Unless you have the patience of a Saint and don't mind paying for service you do mot recieve, I suggest you select another one of the many other companies who provide service.
I'm Happy – The management personally brought out my can before my scheduled pick up when it did not arrive as scheduled. My trash pick up has never been missed since the first pick up. When I call with questions, the service is friendly and all questions are answered. I have had this service for over a year. I am pleased with Allied Waste....glad I picked them!
I've Lost Faith In All Waste Disposal Services – Working an unusual schedule makes it completely inconvenient in trying to find a reliable waste disposal company. Most will claim that if you put your bin to the curb by 6:00AM that it will be collected the same day, but I have yet to find a company that can honor this assertion. In reality, you sign on to the company, put your bin out at 6:00AM and most days of the week find that the truck came through your neighborhood at an earlier time. You call "customer service" (they utilize this term VERY loosely) and the representative simply states that you have to actually put your bin out the night before. That is inconvenient to my personal schedule. I am paying for a service and their guidelines are constantly changing. I am looking for a company that will underpromise and overdeliver, but instead keep finding exactly the opposite as well as a lot of attitude and condescension.
Worst doesn't begin to describe – This is by far the worst example of a "business" I've ever seen. Their service is spotty at best (you pay for weekly service, but you're lucky to get your trash collected once a month... when you call to complain, you'll be told anything from "we'll pick it up tomorrow", to "well, we'll just pick it up next week". They rarely follow through on their promises, their billing is also hit and miss; and if you cancel your service, you won't get a final bill (you have to call THEM to find out the final amount); but you WILL get a Notice of Intent to turn you over to collection. Their business practices are a joke (our payment was once credited to the wrong account). If you have a choice, STAY away. If you don't, find out where the local municipal landfill is and take it yourself. It's not worth the headache
worste trash collection anywhere – If yoju are looking for trash collection business or residental I would advise someone else. Our trash day is wednesday and I still have trash at the end of my driveway and it is after 9pm on friday. I have called every day and still have trash at the end of my driveway. The same thing happened last week
Freaking Horrible! – They never pick anything up when they say they will. When I called to complain the girl "couldn't find me in the records" even though they had just called me the day before to tell me they were on their way. (They never showed up!) You'd be better off burying your trash in your back yard.
New Service Nightmare - part II – Nightmare might be overstating it a bit, actually, since Allied has reliably picked up our trash every week since we started service in early April. However, we're still waiting for our large garbage bin from Allied... it's been 11 weeks now, and I've called many times only to be promised that 'it's coming soon.' Having to drag large wardrobe boxes full of trash the length of our driveway every week is becoming quite a pain. Plus, Allied costs significantly more than at least one other comparable service option in my area. I just cancelled my account today. (Why'd I wait so long???)
New Service Nightmare – My family moved here from Colorado and purchased a home in March. We contacted this company (Allied Waste Management) mid march to request new service. They billed us admin fees which we paid. Told us it would take "a while" to get a waste can and we've been waiting over 2 months. We've researched but apparently they are the only show in town "so to speak" for our area. They promised us twice that our garbage can would be here once on Saturday May 12th and again on May 15th. Nothing but the run around. If you have a choice. Use someone else.
