Enjoyable visits... – I've been to Sheila's on a few occasions, mostly since they're so close to my favorite book store (Barnes & Nobles) & is in the same shopping center. While there is a "cheaper" hair salon in the shopping center, I prefer to go to Sheila's since I know that the people there are friendly, professional, & don't treat you like cattle. (The Hair Cuttery is always packed, sometimes terse, & will cut your hair & ship you out the door.) I'm willing to pay a few extra dollars for good service.
On every visit I've had my stylists talk to me like an actual person, and on every visit they strive to meet my goals: to have hair that looks good & doesn't take a lot of maintenance (since I'm hopeless with hair). I've mostly gone there for the hair cuts, but I've also taken advantage of one or two of their other services & have been pleased.
The only thing that will keep some people away is the price. With wash, cuts, & styling starting at about $35 for women, many will hesitate before coming in. However, I will tell you that it's worth paying for. I've often been dissapointed by chains such as Hair Cuttery or whatever the place is in Wal-Mart (I know, I know, but I was in a hurry). I've rarely been dissapointed by actual salons (the ones that charge more), and I've never been dissapointed by Sheila's.
