Do Not Recommend! – I walked into Grace because it was close to a bridal shop that I visited. I needed some alterations made to my wedding dress and the seamstress was not at the bridal shop that day so I popped in to see if she could do the work. She seemed very knowledgeable and I felt confident that she would do a good job.

I had her replace my zipper closure with a corsett closure, shorten the dress, lower the neckline, and re-tack a few of the folds. I also had her make my flower girl dress.

I will not complain about the corsett. It was done beautifully. However, I had to go back several times because it was not finished when she said it would be. She took up the dress too much so it was more than 2 inches from the ground. She did a good job lowering the neckline, but failed to reattach the lace and beading completely, which I discovered the night before my wedding when I was trying to dress on for my bridesmaids and reaized there were still pins. Then I discovered that there were pins in the places she was supposed to tack the dress as well.

The flower girl dress was very pretty. However, she arbitrarily decided to make the dress SEVERAL inches larger than the measurements that I gave her stating that it could be tightened with the sash of need be. The little girl was a thin 7 year old and the dress would have fit a 12 year old. It was also 3 inches too long. The dress swallowed her so we went back and had her pleat the dress and re-hem it. She charged me to alter the dress on top of the $200 I had already paid to have it made. I had my bridesmaids pick the dress up while I was out running other errands for the wedding. When we tried the dress back on, we realized NOTHING had been done to fix it.

Grace does good work, but she is very disorganized and failed to keep deadlines 100% of the time. I gave her over 6 months and more than $500.00 to complete the work and she failed to do so. As a result, my wedding party and I were up until 3 AM the night before my wedding hand sewing my dress and the flower girl dress.

My advice: go elsewhere.
