Not-so-Good Wedding Tuxedo Rental Experience. I rented wedding tuxedos for my wedding party here in August, 2010, and the experience was subpar.

Choosing the initial tux styles & colors, and fitting for the groom, seemed to go well. They had examples of all the colors and styles of vests there in the store, which we thought was really helpful. We chose an ivory vest that we liked for the Groom, and ivory shirts for everyone. When I showed up before the wedding to try on my tux, we found that the "ivory" shirts were actually a yellow-ish cream, and did NOT match the ivory vest we had selected for the groom, which was much whiter and a true ivory. The several sales associates were not helpful, and in fact refused to acknowledge the issue or offer help, until a manager came over and was helpful. They rush ordered a cream vest which DID match the cream shirt, although still charged us $20 for the change.

Also, service was terribly slow, and at times seemed inept. The manager was very helpful and obviously competent, but it seemed like the other employees would rather be elsewhere.

When I went with a groomsman for his measurements it took nearly an hour to finish what seemed like it should be a 5 minute task. While one associate measured him, he joked to another associate about the clueless customers who complain about the waist measurement that he's recorded, which seemed rather unprofessional. The kicker was that my friend thought his waist measurement HAD to be off by several sizes too large, but didn't say anything because of the associates comment about other customers. Well, it turned out that the pants measurement they took was 6-8 sizes too large when he came in for the fitting, so they had to give him suspenders to wear under his vest.

Anyway, the service is not great, and be sure to ask to see the color of the ivory shirts if you go with them. The tuxes actually ended up being fine, and everything fit really well for most of the wedding party. Oh, also, in addition to the tux rental rate they add a bogus "processing fee" of $7 or $8, as well.
