A low-key favorite of the money-ed set in Bellevue, this spot on Old Main is a bit of a throwback. In the best possible way. Other kitchens might be pushing the envelope, but chef Tom Black knows there would be a riot if he ever tried to 86 the crispy garlic chicken. (Yes, the bird's mother-clucking good, especially on top of those old-fashioned mashed potatoes.) Come here for well-executed comfort food, not to have your palate challenged.
User review by ctac. Very nice, cozy place. Great food. I had a Lamb Loin - loved it. Wine list is not that big, but overall it was a great experience.
Fine dining in Bellevue.
Tucked in Old Bellevue, this restaurant is a great find.
We had a wonderful dinner, with excellent service and nice ambiance. I had the grilled lamb loin, which was very good. But the dry rubbed NY steak that my husband had was even better. It was done perfectly, and the balsamic sauce was heavenly.
One of the Eastside's Best. Love this cozy sophisticated little bistro! Bis is upscale, but without the "snob factor". Recently went to Bis for dinner. I had the Osso Bucco. I usually stay away from veal, but I simply can't resist it at Bis. My date had the filet and said it was really good. We split the risotto for a starter rather than order appetizers. The risotto was creamy, piping hot and delicious. Bis has a nice selection of wines and we had a very nice bottle of Syrah that evening. Servers are knowledgeable and have a great sense of humor. We were too full for dessert, but will definitely try it the next time I go to Bis. Lunch here is also a hit. Try this place ... you won't be sorry!
Great Place!. The food and service compliment each other perfectly. The menu is always changing so don't expect to have a usual. I love the place!
My Eastside Find. Just found this restaurant this year and love it! Great food, fabulous staff. It's so great not to have to drive across the bridge for fine dining!
The Best on the Eastside. Have been going for years here Joe and his staff are wonderful and the foods is always great. If you like chicken it is a must.
Hidden Gem on Main. A friend told me about Bis and I was shocked that I had seen the store front many times and never given it a second look. However with recommendation in hand I made the trek inside. To my surprise the interior was very elegant, and stylish unlike the exterior. The service was delivered with a bit of humor and personality, and oh the food...was incredibly good. I had the potato cake and cod special with perfectly blanched french beans. My SO had the filet mignon cooked to perfection. We finished it all off with an excellent lemon creme brule. Perhaps it was first time luck...I'll gladly be going back soon to verify my earlier results. Check it out...it's one of the best restaurants on the eastside.
