A landmark in Los Gatos – Since the old days across the street in Old Town, this place has been a landmark in Los Gatos. It has a fierce following, and has earned it!
Offering more fish selections than any place n LG, the well kept decor and tasty mussels is a must for this fish lover.
Service is good, and your can tell the servers have been there a while and developed relationships with the patrons.
Food decent, but bland, a bit on the expensive side – I've been here a couple of times for dinner and the drinks are generally good, but the portions for many of the fish dishes are small, and the salads can be on the bland side. If they spiced things up a little, and brought down the prices, might be better.
Exceptional – My husband and I, along with some friends of ours, went to Steamers one night after trying to figure out what new restaurant to try. I can't believe I didn't know of this place before. It was absolutely phenomenal! I dont normally order soup, but their clam chowder is to die for. For the main dish, I had a sweet pea and hazelnut stuffed chicken breast on the bone with creamed butternut squash and mixed sauteed root vegetables. I never order chicken when we go out, but this sounded so good! I wish words could describe how wonderful our meal was. The service was also friendly and the ambiance was perfect for a great Friday night out. I cant wait to go again!
South Bay favorite reels in locals with fresh fish and sweeping views of the Santa Cruz Mountains. – The Scene
The restaurant attracts a lively crowd for dinner, as well as after-work drinks. Young Silicon Valley professionals gather at the olive- and camel-colored bar, where they carefully sip cosmopolitans while checking out the cutie two stools down. It's a more mature crowd than other Los Gatos stalwarts like the Black Watch, but the air of romantic possibility hangs no less heavy. The main dining room is cooler, with bare wooden tables, wide open spaces and big expanses of stone floor.
Locals come for the classics (the house seafood linguine, shrimp cocktail, grilled fish). But order a margarita plus one of these options: the house chowder, a rib-sticking soup that packs a fair-minded number of chewy clams; malpeque oysters with a hint of cucumber; or a simple grilled filet of sea bass or swordfish.
User review by pinkflower – My husband and I had a good experience here. Service was friendly, but our waiter didn't seem as knowledgeable as he should have been when asked for a wine recommendation. The ambiance was great- casual, but nice at the same time. Food was great.
Destination – Steamers is a good place for a variety of reasons: the menu; the drinks; and the ambience. I've gone many times for drinks and dinner and actually prefer the drinks and an appetizer the best. Fun place that's a bit pricey. They serve a very good mojito.
good fish food – Food was great, they do need to change menu. It's best to make reservations as it can get very busy. If you like fish this is the place to go.
