Simply Put: A Bad Restaurant – Like another reviewer, I have to say I've been to Tapestry twice. Giving a restaurant more than one chance is important in my opinion. The first time I went to this restaurant, it was right after it opened way back in the late 1990s. The food wasn't terrible by any means, but I wasn't impressed. It was average at best. Considering the prices they were (and still are) charging, I was dissappointed and did not go back for many years. My second visit was just a few days ago. Yes, I decided to give Tapestry another try. They've been around for awhile; so I thought they must be doing something right. Boy was I wrong.

To make a long story short, the food quality was terrible. I happen to have a background in food & beverage; so I do use my palate to scrutinize the food I eat. In my opinion and experience, what I tasted sent three clear messages to me: 1) the food buyer at Tapestry likely doesn't have a handle on what quality food should taste like; 2) even if the food buyer does know a thing or two, the food storage and cooling units have got to be sub-par (if you can't keep food in good condition, it tastes bad); and 3) whoever prepares the food doesn't know what they are doing. At Tapestry, this likely is the same person. Is this harsh?? Yes. But for entrees that are $20+ dollars, I expect, at a minimum, food quality and preparation to be high. I may not personally care for a dish, but at these prices, I have to be able to respect the chef. I cannot say this about Tapestry. The food was so bad, I question how it is they have been able to remain in business. Everything from appetizer to dessert was low quality and off tasting. Moreover, the portion sizes and presentation was laughable, again considering the price.

If you are coming to Los Gatos for a meal, do not go to Tapestry. There are much finer establishments in town, many at a better price. I will never go to Tapestry again.

Love the cocktails, appetizers, slightly overpriced – A little overpriced I will admit, but for a date night or expense account meal it is definitely worth it. The food is inventive, fun and well prepared.

Fun, Romantic, Delicious! – I love this place! The food, the wine & cocktails, the service, the astmosphere........yes! Tapestry has it all. I've been dinning here since the opened the doors and am sure it will remain my favorite if and when they are ever closed. I've sent clients there as well and they have always come back with rave reviews. Try dinner at the bar. Same menue, great view of the kitchen and all the action. It's the bomb!

Do not go here!!!!!! – First I have to say that I have eaten at this place twice before. The first time was a great exprenice, but when I went back the second time. Ahhhhh!!! Okay, I made reservation one week ahead for my girlfriends birthday party for 17 people at 7:00pm. On the day that I got there the host said that they didn't have me down for the date I requested, which really made my mad because I had given them my credit card number to hold the reservation. They did get us sets quick though I'll give them that. One to our meal, it was horrible the food here is over priced for what they give you and the service wasn't that great either.

Strange service, poor value – I've never been to a place where the waiter had to translate the strange descriptions of the menu items for half the menu, and where they ask you if you want a second glass of wine - you say no, and they come with the bottle and top off your half-full glass and charge you for a second full glass (when clearly it was not). Had it not been for my friend who loves the place, I would have debated the bill.

The food - I had duck and it was dry. However the red cabbage over goat chees that came with it was good.

The dessert - banana fosters came in a martini cup with slices of what seemed to be plain bananas with some carmelized thin sauce and completely melted ice cream.
