Nasty!. If I could rate this place a zero stars I would. We decided to try this place out after moving to the area. We will never go back again!!! I ordered the beef asparagus which was on the "specials" menu. I chose the hot and sour soup which is always what I pick. The soup was so so at best. Then they brought out some shrimp asparagus. I told the waitress that this is not what I ordered. She just smiled and nodded and walked off. Not quite sure she understood english. Then another waitress walked by and saw that I wasnt eating my food. (It smelled awful) I told her this was not what I ordered, and by this point we had already been there 30 minutes. She then brought out what I had originally ordered. It tasted so awful that when she came by again I said I will not be eating this and that I wanted it removed from my bill. She said they cannot change the bill without the manager, and he was not there. Not wanting to cause a scene, I just gave up. She offered to put my food in a to go box, even though I said I didnt want it. Then when she brought us the bill they had charged me for the shrimp which was a few dollars more than my "special". We promptly left, did not tip, and will never be back. And to top if off- (remember, all I ate from here was the hot and sour soup) then next day I had some very unpleasent trips to the bathroom which included whole shittake mushrooms! Hah! That is what I will always remember from this place- Sh*ting shittake mushrooms...

Don't Waste your TIME. We will never want Chinese food enough to go back. We were seated at least 10 minutes before the table next to us, they had their water before us and their order was taken before us. They got their order at least 10 min before we did. They were in a party of 4 we were 2.

Appetizers came after the meal. Our weightier seemed annoyed we were in his almost empty section.

Editorial Review by Citysearch Editors. Casual, family-style local chain (three locations) offers all the Chinese favorites, either a la carte or as one of many combinations.

I would not put chans in a top 100 list. lousy service lousy food nice decor. If the spent as much on the food as they did the decor they might have better food. I would not even call this Chinese food. If you live in Klahanie go down the hill to the Mandarin Garden. It is not as good as Yeas Wok in Newcastle, my vote for the best in Seattle, but it is pretty close. Huge menu, low prices, lots of food on the plate. All fresh ingredients.

Real Schmeal...The Food is Great!. I don't know about "real" Chinese food (I know some real Chinese), but I do know that Chan's has great food, good ambiance, and they are really nice. My family has eaten there a couple of times now and it has always been excellent. I recommend the walnut prawns and the chow fun.

You get what you get. That's all. First of all, it's ludicrous for this place to top other Chinese food places in WA *TO ME*. But you have to consider where we live, plus who is writing in. Those who write in are likely folks who have not yet ventured to the more authentic places. For those of us who have, this place is very much lacking, but let's give credit where credit is due. As a full-blooded Chinese guy, this place doesn't rate in my top 10, but if I compared this to many of the other "Americanized" Chinese restaurants, it's not deadly. Better than the take out at Safeway yet worse than the more authentic places, REAL Chinese food can contain chicken.. Just depends upon where in China you are as to whether or not chicken or duck or oxen or snake or dog is the local plentiful meat du jour!!

Not the best, but all we have at Klahanie.... What to say? The prices are high, the food varies from okay to unpalatable, but up in the Sammamish area beggars can't be choosers. Mind you, If I find a better place within 15 minutes drive, I'll be moving on. Lest this sound too depressing, Chan's isn't really worse than the general ethinic offerings up here in suburban wilderness, and you can choose dishes that really work. Their Mu-Shu offerings are nice, Sesame Beef and Mongolian Beef are like a number of urban offerings, and there must be others that are good. Stay away from the Chow Fun, Sesame Chicken.

If Chan's wasn't so expensive, it would be worth spending some time figuring out what works.

Very good. This is a great family resteraunt. Great service, great food, nice atmosphere. I think its so funny that people are saying its not real chinese food. OF COURSE ITS NOT. this is america, not china! If you want "real" chinese food, then you'll have to go to China! Not even china town has real chinese food, considering in China they dont even use chicken as an ingrident, they use oxen. Just FYI. But its great that some americans like to act like they're so much more cultured than everyone else. This is a great resteraunt, go check it out!

good old american chinese. if american style chinese is what you want, this is the place. if you want real chinese go to china town. the sweet and sour pork tasted like donuts with a small piece of meat on the inside, and it just got worse from there.

for shrimp chow mein the noodles weren't pan fried, but those dry ones and with only two pieces of shrimp.
