Huh?.
I dont know how everyone else gives Tommy's such high ratings. Maybe I'm spoiled. Food quality and flavor have been inconsistent but just okay. Middle of the road fare at best. The service is always slow and not particularly gracious. The fact that there is never a wait on a Friday night, and is resonably priced earns it 2 stars in my book.

Great Find!.
I have been hopping from Thai restaurant to Thai restaurant comparing Pad Thai dishes, I have never come across a necessarily bad dish, but definitely some that I would not revisit. But oh what a delight to have found the Pad Thai at Tommy Thai's! At first bite that delicate balance of savory/sweet/sour/spice were in perfect harmony, it is not too greasy, not too salty. The crunch of the chopped nuts on top combined with the softness of the noodles, the perfectly tender chicken, some onion and spouts, make for a heavenly combination. To satisfy four of the taste senses perfectly and harmoniously, (which the perfect Pad Thai must do), requires a great skill indeed.
The restaurant is in a small strip mall off of Rosehill, but don't let the location fool you, the staff are wonderful, the prices are great, and oh, did I mention the Pad Thai?

This is a good Thai restaurant. The service is great, food is served very quickly, prices are good, and the food is consistently good.

My favorite lunch place.
I'm a chump for Thai food and Tommy Thai delivers. I'm a vegetarian so I can't comment on the meat dishes, but the tofu and noodle dishes are always great. My favorites are the Swimming Angels (awesome peanut sauce over a bed of spinach and carrots), and Phad See lew (Wide noodles with broccoli and other veggies.) If you eat in you receive hot and sour soup with your meal whereas takeout gives you salad, a spring roll, rice, and your entree. The only thing I could wish for would be a full service bar (they only have beer and wine.)

Awesome spring rolls.
The spring rolls here are great, with a lot of flavor from black pepper. And their peanut sauce is delicious. A 2-star dish here is a little spicier than at most Thai places. The old standby chicken phad thai is great. But their tofu is gross--too crusty and crunchy and chewy. Kind of the tofu equivalent of bread that's just a little too old. The beef and pork have been 50/50--sometimes great, sometimes too tough.
The service is kind of disorganized and disoriented and the hours seem disjointed.
I recommend it for take out of classic Thai chicken dishes, such as phad thai, phad see iew and garlic delight. And definitely get the spring rolls. Those are the best dishes here.

Best thai food in Kirkland.
Tommy Thai recently changed owners and I think the food has gotten much better. My husband and I have been going there off and on for the past 2 years, and recently found the food to be tastier and heartier. I recommend their tom yum soup with prawns and phad see iew. Very yummy. : )
If you live within 2 miles of the restaurant, they could even deliver the food to you!
