Save your money!! – They should warn you ahead of time about the serving sizes before ordering here! We ordered the lasanga and spaghetti with meatballs. The lasagna honestly tasted like they bought it frozen at costo and just warmed it up! I could have made way better spaghetti than the one that I ate there and they just plopped one HUGE meatball on top of the spaghetti....now that was hilarious!
I would NEVER go here again because the food is way below average for an Italian restaurant....and the stupid tour they give if you never been there, what's the point?!
not worth it – Some friends and I went here for a bachelorette party dinner. After waiting almost 45 minutes to sit at our table, which we had reserved, I was really unimpressed.
The service was somewhat rude and brusque, the food was really greasy and salty, and in the end, much more expensive than it was worth.
Nothing to write home about – This restaurant is incredibly popular as evidenced by the lack of parking and packed facility. Sometimes, this can serve to be a downfall. We experienced an unusually long wait before our server came to take our order. The service for 2+ is a fun concept, but doesn't work well if you would like to sample a few different appetizers with a friend. I found their cuisine to be a bit below average, meaning, it was edible but I've had better. I like the amount of pasta to be less than half of the meats, veggies and sauce on my plate. What I got was a huge bowl of overboiled pasta with a few tablespoons of sauce and toppings. Pricing is fair considering how many people will be fed from one dish. Overall, I can't recommend this place with so many other wonderful italian joints out there.
Tasty and fun! – We did our first visit tonight and I have to say this: It's not authentic Italian, so get over it. If someone is visiting from Naples, take them somewhere else. However, if you seek a lively, kid-friendly atmosphere and some tasty food, this is your place. Four of us arrived early in the dinner hour with no reservation and were seated within 15 minutes. Our server was professional, knowledgeable and very efficient. He was also very patient, politely handling a table that complained of garlic on their garlic bread and that requested that their sauce be served separately from their spaghetti and that they only receive a certain number of meatballs (!) Our fried calamari was crisp but tender, while our eggplant parmesan and ravioli with meat sauce were delicious and filling. For family dining, we'll be back.
It's an Original Italian Restaraunt – The food was delicious. Whenever i go dining there, my group and I always leave the restaraunt feeling incredibly full. WOW, the portions are humongous. We ordered one entree (Chicken Caccitore), shared it amnong four people, and had enough to take home. I enjoyed the different pictures around the walls and wine display above the ceiling (an Italian feel). EVEN the restroom was really nice! The desserts might be a bit pricey, but is worth the spending (absolutely scrumptious). I highly reccomend groups to dine there. It's a fun experience.
Great Group Dining Experience – We had a party with 12 people at Buca. The food was great, the waitress was very helpful and we had a fantastic time. My only complaint is that we had a reservation at 6pm and we had to stand in the very crowded lobby for over a half hour waiting to be seated.
Great food / Atmosphere – I've eaten at Buca di Beppo's quite a few times and every time I've been satisifed with the service and food. I'm not sure about the poor asian guy that was offened don't quite understand that, sucks to be him. I'm Italian and I enjoy myself in the atmosphere they have created I dont' see how anyone could be offended lol. The only thing to really keep in mind is to make reservations. Any good restuarant is going to pull in a crowd of people.
I've had much better – We visited on a Sunday, and the place was still quite crowded. Reserverations are a MUST. Knowing ahead of time that this place is FAMILY style helps. Get a few dishes and share. We started with the garlic bread topped with mozzeralla...similar to a thick cheese pizza, and not bad! For our entrees we went with the chicken parmesian and spaghetti/meatballs. The chicken was quite good, and done just right. The spaghetti on the other hand was way overcooked. While the meatballs were the size of baseballs, they were kind of dry and didn't have much flavor. The spumoni was average. A good place to bring the whole family, but not your quality Italian eatery. I would only recommend to certain friends.
Best Italian In Washington – This place has awesome food, especially their tortoloni. They have these green beans that they cook with lemon, and salt. they are the best.
