No, no, no – Awful. We drove from Seattle to Mercer to find another pizza place but my phone battery died, no GPS. Instead we got this one. Terrible, terrible food. We couldn't understand why everyone left their cheese bread on the table until we got some. Hair in the pizza, sent it back. Pasta sauce was disgusting, meatball like a rock. Service was poor, waitress acted like we were thorns in her side, got our own silverware. Don't do it.
BEWARE: Service Ruins Meal – Truly terrible service and mediocre food. They sat us at our table for nearly 15 minutes (I was watching the clock) before we even got a menu. No water, no bread. Ten minutes more before we ordered. Then the real wait began. No water -- we had to request. No refills. Our kids were starving after 40 minutes, and we asked for bread, but the waitress made excuses. When a glass of water spilled, we had to cleaned up ourselves (we found a stack of napkins). The salads arrived (after our request) without forks, so we found those ourselves. The food took over an hour to arrive after we ordered and was salty and lukewarm. I love good Italian comfort food, but this experience was an overall "1" out of 10 -- and we're not that fussy. I geve Marie Callendar's frozen entrees a 5 out of 10. The "regulars" were given only slightly inadequate service, unlike the rest of us who were left sitting forever, so I assume the decent reviews must come from regulars. We won't be back -- next time I'll hit the grocer and just buy Marie Callendar's -- cheaper, tastier and at least I'll be able to get a glass of water when I'm thirsty!
One of the Greats! – I think it's funny when people expect a high end dining expirience from a "mom n pop". Yes, I'll agree -the service is generally lousy. -Can you really expect a 5-star expirience from a few spoiled high school kids? The food is one of kind, and when it comes to flavor (isn't that what we're really lookin for?), few come close. I have lived away from Washington for the last 15 years. Wanna know what the first thing I want, when I come back to visit, is? This place has been in business forever! All of my 35 years, anyway... In a town where a lousy resraurant gets pushed out as fast as they come in. Roberto's IS, by definition, comfort food at it's finest. If you like your coffee from Starbucks, get your pizza from Domino's. Leave these little gems to those of us who can appreciate them. Oh, and always make sure to ask for the dressing on the side. ;^)
The Worst Italian Food Ever – By far, this is the most pitiful excuse for an italian restaurant. I have been to the restaurant 4-5 times (1 time to try it out, the other 3-4 times because of birthday and sports parties my kids were invited to). The food is horrible. The pizza dough is chewy. The red sauce is like ketchup. The only decent thing on the menu is their house salad because it is literally smothered in grated mozzarella cheese, hiding the rediculously thick house dressing. Oh, and the service. What service? Wait staff is almost non-existent. Save your money.
Yummy! – The house Italian dressing is really out of this world- the salad is true Italian flare with mozzerella and salami topped. The pizza, I think is the best in the Seattle area. The service is usually poor, but that probably reverts back to the owner.
