fatty meat – i ordered (among other things), the steak teriyaki. it arrived sizzling hot (very cool), but of the small portion of steak, the quality of the steak was abysmal. i think of 'healthy' food when i go out to a sushi place. but this steak contained so much fat that i ended up only eating about 1/2 of it.
Always WONDERFUL! – I love NARA! Stumbled onto it in 1995 and will always believe it to be the best in all of Seattle. Paul and Angie run a loving and tasty ship. The food is made exquisitely and always fresh! This is a MUST for any sushi-phile
Good stuff – My favorites are the california roll (made with mayo, as it should be *grin*), and the beef donburi. The staff are great, and it's fun to check out pictures of the famous folks who have stopped by.
When tradition meets renovation – Nara is very special. For lover of traditional Japanese food, the freshness of blue-fin tuna will melt you away, for any sushi lovers who always want to try new things, Paul will go out his way to make you a personal special sushi or you can choose already super popular only Nara "lulu special roll, eel tempura roll, redmond roll, and Nara Roll is the one offers both taste and looks. That's why, I always recommend everyone to go to Nara because to me, everytime is a surprse.
reasons you should go! – I have been to many different Japanese Restaurants. Nara is one of the most special restauant that I feel anyone who must spend your time there at least once. The food is very very different than any other japanese restaurant. The owner spend a lot of time to creak many different kind of special sushi for sushi lovers. Please try Redmond Roll, Nara special roll, eel tempura roll and many different roll especial the owner creat "Anthony & Alex special twin roll. Not in menu but must order.
It's the best! – Great food - great service - a favorite for years!
Do yourself a favor and head to Nara for the best sushi in the area!
It's all about the fish... – and it's the freshest around, served with a generous hand. I have a friend who flies in periodically to this area and insists on eating here as he says it's the best sushi restaurant he's ever been to, beating New York, LA and Tokyo. Just put yourself in Paul's hands - ask him what is fresh and best - and you will enjoy yourself, guaranteed. Be sure to try the cold "Mu" sake too.
absolute heaven – I've had sushi at nearly all the places in the Seattle area (and in Japan for that matter!) and believe me when I say that Nara in Redmond is truly top shelf. The freshest fish in town, with only the best quality for sale. The service is fast and curteous, and Paul will go out of his way to make you happy. It's no wonder I've seen so many of the same great folks at the sushi bar again and again. The sauteed mirugai is pure delight, and the spicy lulu roll (crayfish and tobiko) will knock your socks off! The sashimi is so fresh and flavorful you'll wonder why you ever ate fish anywhere else! Do yourself a favor and go see Paul!
Can't Beat It – The soft shell crab is only one of the reasons to go to Nara's. The bento boxes are huge with tasty selections of fish, chicken or beef. The udon is probably the best in the area. For sushi affectionaidos, belly up to the bar and start ordering. As the saying goes, it's all good.
Soft Shell Crab Roll, YUM! – Paul's soft shell crab roll is one of those food items that can turn a bad day good. It's also one of the very few foods that I can 't help but "ummm" out loud when I pop that first bite in my mouth. It is an excellent choice for novice sushi eaters since technically it is cooked. Don't miss the Donburries either and my kids love the Tonkatsu, which is really just a breaded pork cutlet. Excellent food, excellent service.
