As a response to the dissatisfied customer below, ECGA is responsible for giving kids an outlet to develop their skills in gymnastics. Majority of the staff members are either out on the floor coaching classes or at the front desk assisting customers. The cleanliness of the viewing area is tended to as often as possible, however it sounds like the issue at hand is not with the gym itself; the discipline of the children should be the parents' responsibilities, not the coaches. There are over 1700 athletes in the gym each week; the respect for the facilities should be a joint effort from the customers as well as the staff.
Also, the gym does not sell ice cream, they sell delicious and healthy fruit bars!
This place is so disgusting and i won't be coming back anymore. They sell popcorn at a gym! they have vending machines, soda machines, and ICE CREAM at a gym. Aren't athletes supposed to be eating healthy? There's no discipline here either. the kids throw whatever they want on the floor, leave their clothes around, and not care about anything else. All of this makes me think that this place just rips people off of their hard earned money.
We have been at this gym for over four years. I have had over 25 years experience with gymnastics facilities as a gymnast, a coach and now a mom of a gymnast. I have been 100% impressed with the coaching staff, the owners and more importantly the program that has been built at this gym. The staff and owners treat the gymnasts like family and hold the priorities of respect and teamwork at the forefront for these kids. I am so grateful that we discovered ECGA and I am proud to be part of their family. If you want your gymnast to learn the skills of life in a healthy way, join ECGA. They are the best.
We have found the staff and ownership at ECGA to be caring and accessible. We love their program and travel clear from Puyallup to participate in team.
After many years at another gym in Seattle, my daughter moved to ECGA last fall. She is a member of the JO team so we spend many hours per week in the gym. Let me say, we have been so happy since our move. As we all know, people make a business and the people at ECGA are wonderful! The owners and coaches truly care about each and every gymnast and their individual success. At my previous gym, the owner didn't even know my daughter's name. At ECGA, the owner not only knows her name, but knows what skills she is working on, how she performed in her last meet and that she loves scrunchies. As a mom, the true test is if your child is happy. Well, my daughter can't wait to go to practice and comes out each time with a big smile on her face. I can't say enough good things about ECGA...I highly recommend it!
Emerald City Gymnastic Academy is an excellent, safe, organized and caring program. My daughter is a team gymnast here and absolutely loves it! We purposely came from another academy because of this program: the high level and commitment of the coaching staff & the owners, as well as the integrity of the organization and communication. My daughter is loved and supported in this program not only as an athlete but as an individual and teammate from all coaches, the owners, all teammates and their families. In addition, this care is also extended to me, the parent, as well. We feel lucky and fortunate to be part of ECGA and HIGHLY recommend it!
Like others have mentioned here, we've experienced some really pushy, scary management running this place. Just go ask to talk with the main owner and formulate your own opinion but we're almost certain you'll come to the same conclusions we did and that's that the owner is really bad news and we're not comfortable having our children exposed to this person any longer.
By far the worst management. Hosted my daughter's party today and had the worst experience ever. The party co-ordinator was so disorganised and the coaches were extremely unprofessional. They moved us to a smaller party room in the last minute. We were alloted 2 coaches, one of who was never around to help..I would never recommend this place to anybody, definitely not for parties....Im furious. The only thing going for them is Coach Megan. She is wonderful.
Though not a lot of personal experience with management, I've seen and heard enough that I'm not surprised at some of the comments. Coach Megan though is fantastic! She gives private lessons to my 6 yo daughter and my daughter adores Megan and is becoming quite the gymnast. Karen at the front desk is always pleasant and helpful too.
Don't send your young children. My child just attended first time in a class. Tthe coach was just a teenager and gave no proper instruction to her and showed no interests in teaching to young kids. The worst thing is that my kid came home injured herself. Also, there were too many kids in such a small area. There are far less number of properly trained instructors per kids. For the same price, you can let your kids learn in safer environment with properly trained instructors somewhere else.
